Many outstanding advantages for developing the economic "lifeline".
Decision No. 2229/QD-TTg dated October 9, 2025, of the Prime Minister approving the Strategy for the Development of Vietnam's Logistics Services for the period 2025-2035, with a vision to 2050 (Decision 2229) identifies the formation and development of three growth engine regions for logistics services in the Red River Delta, the Southeast region, and the Central region to become international-level logistics service centers.
Here, Da Nang city plays a key role as a growth pole for the logistics service growth region of Central Vietnam; prioritizing the development of logistics services and logistics centers linked to the key economic corridors of Quang Tri - Hue - Da Nang with Laos, Thailand, and Myanmar (the East-West Economic Corridor, EWEC).

Mr. Nguyen Tan Man, CEO of Bee Distribution Center, believes that Decision 2229 is a strategic turning point for businesses operating in the logistics industry.
"This decision not only guides the development of logistics infrastructure, but also lays the foundation for a green, smart, and sustainable logistics model, in line with the green transformation trend that the world is moving towards," Mr. Man said.
According to Mr. Man, Da Nang has a "golden opportunity" to assert its role as a regional logistics hub. The city possesses a superior infrastructure foundation to become an international goods transshipment center in the near future, with its gateway location to the East-West Economic Corridor, convenient connections to Laos, Thailand, and Myanmar, along with Lien Chieu Port, an international airport, and railway and expressway lines that are receiving significant investment.

Sharing the same view, Dr. Nguyen Tien Da, Head of the Commercial Business Department (Faculty of Business Administration, College of Commerce), believes that the issuance of Decision 2229 in the current context is timely, appropriate, and of significant importance for the development of logistics services in Da Nang city in particular and the whole country in general.
According to Dr. Nguyen Tien Da, after the administrative reorganization, Da Nang has a large area available for planning industrial parks, export processing zones, and free trade zones, thereby creating conditions for the development of goods. The timely and appropriate issuance of policies has helped Da Nang avoid "missing" the opportunity to exploit these valuable areas.

Dr. Nguyen Tien Da noted that operating a two-tiered government model helps shorten procedures, optimize the administrative apparatus, and localities should effectively utilize this reform. At the same time, with the expansion of space, the port-airport-transportation-warehouse system has the opportunity to be reorganized on a larger and more synchronized scale.
Furthermore, the free trade agreements (FTAs) that Vietnam has signed have opened up significant opportunities for Da Nang in terms of exports, tariffs, and market access. Da Nang has been authorized by the central government to pilot the establishment of a Free Trade Zone. These are the foundations for creating a supply chain, a key factor determining the development of logistics.
Take advantage of available opportunities and invest in depth.
Mr. Nguyen Tan Man, CEO of Con Ong Distribution Center, expects Decision 2229 and the central government's policies for Da Nang to be concretized soon. This will be a breakthrough, creating a favorable environment for international import-export, distribution, and logistics businesses to converge in Da Nang.
According to Mr. Man, the city needs to accelerate the construction of Lien Chieu Port and complete the regional connectivity infrastructure system. When the port becomes operational, combined with the highway, railway, and airport networks, Da Nang will form a complete logistics ecosystem, playing a crucial role as a gateway for goods transshipment in Central Vietnam and the Central Highlands, as well as the East-West Economic Corridor.
Domestic logistics businesses will need to invest more systematically, from warehousing infrastructure, vehicle fleets, operational technology to human resources, to meet the increasingly high demands of the market and approach international standards. Only when the logistics ecosystem is upgraded comprehensively will Da Nang truly become a regional logistics hub."

Dr. Nguyen Tien Da noted that Da Nang still faces challenges such as: limited supply of goods along the East-West Economic Corridor and from the Central Highlands to Da Nang port; high logistics costs compared to the other two ends of the country; and long delivery times, reducing the competitiveness of businesses.
Furthermore, Da Nang's logistics infrastructure mainly revolves around simple delivery, transportation, and warehousing activities, and still lacks value-added services...
"In terms of product scale, Da Nang needs to focus on developing industrial product groups that have advantages in the Central and Central Highlands regions, such as processed and manufactured goods, seafood, specialized agricultural products, and garments. At the same time, it should invest in depth in goods within the global supply chain, creating a position in the international logistics network," proposed Dr. Nguyen Tien Da.
Da Nang needs to quickly leverage its potential to attract investment, create new products, and meet the supply and demand for goods for import and export. It needs to immediately embrace new forms and requirements of e-commerce, digitalization, and green digital transformation to ensure goods meet the requirements of FTAs. In particular, it must take advantage of central government policies that are providing more comprehensive and faster support to achieve the goals set out in Decision 2229.
