Public universities all have over 90% of their graduates achieving a GPA of "good" or higher.
Economics Department: Has a program with over 99% of students achieving good or excellent grades.
On August 26th, the National Economics University held its 2023 graduation ceremony for 4,577 new graduates. Of these, 1,192 students graduated with excellent grades (26.04%), 1,925 with good grades (42.06%), and 1,376 with fair grades (30.06%). Thus, the number of students graduating with good grades or higher reached 98.1% .
In the December 2022 graduation ceremony, the University of Banking Ho Chi Minh City awarded diplomas to 479 students graduating from the regular undergraduate program. The percentage of students graduating with good, excellent, or outstanding grades reached 98.75%, with most majors having no students graduating with average grades. Notably, the Accounting major (DH35 class) had 22 out of 34 students graduating with excellent grades (64%). In the previous graduation ceremony in August 2022, out of 526 regular undergraduate students, only 10 graduated with average grades (1.9%). For the high-quality program, the percentage of students graduating with good or excellent grades reached 99.05%.
In March of this year, the University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City awarded graduation certificates to 3,978 full-time students. Statistics from the university show that there were 43 excellent students, 1,994 good students, and 1,602 average students. The total number of students graduating with excellent, good, or average grades at the university accounts for over 91%.
Hue University of Education ( Hue University) has the highest ever record, with 98.5% of its 2018 graduating class achieving a GPA of "good" or higher.
Some schools have over 68% of graduates with honors or higher.
On June 8th, the University of Education (Hue University) held a graduation ceremony and awarded regular university degrees to 417 students. Among them, 55 students achieved excellent grades (13.2%); 208 achieved good grades (49.9%); 150 achieved fair grades (36%); and only 4 students received average grades (1%). The percentage of students graduating with a good grade or higher was 99.1% .
On July 13th and 14th, the University of Labour and Social Affairs held a graduation ceremony for 1,076 new regular undergraduate graduates. Of these, 3 students achieved excellent graduation rankings (0.28%), 127 students achieved good graduation rankings (11.8%), 869 students achieved fair graduation rankings (80.76%), and 77 students achieved average graduation rankings. The total number of students graduating with excellent, good, or fair grades accounted for 92.84%.
Of the 2,079 students graduating from Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology and Education in January this year, only 24 students graduated with average grades (1.15%), while 98.85% graduated with good, excellent, or outstanding grades . In the 2022 graduation ceremony, the university also awarded degrees to 2,079 engineers and bachelors from the regular program. Of these, 3 students graduated with outstanding grades (0.14%); 397 students with good grades (19.1%); 1,655 students with fair grades (79.61%); and only 24 students graduated with average grades (1.15%). Thus, the total number of students graduating with good, excellent, or outstanding grades at the university reached 98.85%.
The percentage of students graduating with good or excellent grades in the October 2022 graduation ceremony of Ho Chi Minh City University of Law also reached 96.7%. Specifically, out of a total of 1,290 graduating students, 43 graduated with average grades (accounting for 3.33%). The remainder included: 5 students with excellent grades, 202 students with good grades, and 1,040 students with fair grades.
Thus, depending on the school and graduation period, the percentage of students graduating with a GPA of "good" or higher is generally above 90%, with many schools reaching around 99%. However, considering only students graduating with "excellent" or "outstanding," this percentage varies by school. Some schools have lower percentages, such as the Ho Chi Minh City University of Law (graduation period October 2022), with only 16%; Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology and Education (over 19%); and the University of Labour and Social Affairs (over 12%). Meanwhile, the Ho Chi Minh City University of Economics has over 51%; Hue University of Education (over 63%); and the National Economics University (over 68%).
