Promoting local strengths and opening up ways to enrich farmer members, in recent years, the Farmers' Association of Bao Lam district, Cao Bang province has had many solutions to support farmers and farmer members in developing livestock farming.

Mr. Mong Hai Chau - Chairman of Bao Lam District Farmers' Association said: Raising buffaloes and cows is a strong profession of Bao Lam District, therefore, in recent years, to develop household economy, Bao Lam District Farmers' Association has supported farmers and farmer members in training on livestock raising techniques, capital, livestock breeds, etc. so that farmers can develop livestock raising.
Up to now, from the Farmers Support Fund in the area, 27 buffaloes and 105 cows have been handed over to farmer members to develop family economy.
As a household receiving support from the Farmers' Association of Bao Lam district, Mr. Hoang Van Minh, Ban Bung hamlet, Yen Tho commune said: Before, my family was very difficult, in 2017, when borrowing capital from the "Farmer Support" Fund, my family was supported with 20 million VND, along with the savings to buy a pair of breeding cows. Raising cows has been favorable, so far my family's herd has more than 10 cows, each year after deducting expenses, the income reaches over 100 million VND/year.
With the support of the Farmers' Association of Bao Lam District and the Farmers' Association of Cao Bang Province, the buffalo and cow breeding has brought a large source of income to many households of farmers in Bao Lam District. Especially, the method of free-range grazing, following nature to concentrated breeding has been changed.
During the concentrated livestock farming process, households and farmer members have built solid barns, grown grass for food, vaccinated against diseases and applied scientific advances in livestock farming, disinfectants and sterilized livestock barns according to current regulations...
To continue supporting farmers and farmer members in developing livestock farming, in 2024, the Bao Lam District Farmers' Association implemented 6 projects: Cattle Breeding Project in Quang Lam Commune, Thai Son; Buffalo Breeding Project in Vinh Phong Commune; Cow Breeding Project in Thai Hoc Commune, Vinh Quang...
Many households have had a good income from raising livestock.
Mr. Hoang Van Thiet - Chairman of Thai Hoc Commune People's Committee said: In 2024, from the "Breeding cattle" project supported by the Farmers' Association, our Duc Long hamlet had 10 households that were able to borrow 500 million VND to buy breeding animals, build barns, grow grass for livestock... This is a very necessary support for farmers and our members to have a basis for developing livestock farming.
With its contributions, Bao Lam District Farmers' Association is actively contributing to the development of Bao Lam District's livestock herd to reach over 42,000 by the end of 2025, including 24,000 cows.
