The global community based on game data, Minimap, aims to penetrate the Vietnamese market.

Minimap shared its global strategy map, affirming Vietnam as a key market in Southeast Asia and committing to pursuing long-term partnerships and expanding its player community there.

Minimap, a global community platform specializing in in-depth gaming, introduced its strategy for entering the Vietnamese and Southeast Asian markets at the 2025 Pangyo Global Media Meet Up - Season 4: International Press Interviews, which recently took place at Pangyo Techno Valley, Seongnam, South Korea.

The event was hosted by the Gyeonggi Science and Economic Development Organization (GCE), with the participation of VietnamPlus online newspaper.

Mr. Cho Sung-hee, the company's CEO, stated that Minimap launched as a global gaming community platform in South Korea in 2017 and has grown significantly, boasting approximately 300,000 monthly active users (MAU) and over 130,000 registered members. Initially, Minimap was created based on the realization that today's gamers face the challenge of scattered game data across multiple systems, thus requiring a central hub to consolidate gameplay data and connect players with similar interests.

Users can link gaming accounts from major platforms including Steam, Xbox, PlayStation, and Nintendo to Minimap, allowing the platform to collect real-time gameplay data and display a comprehensive game history. Based on this data, Minimap provides new game suggestions and connects communities based on similar gameplay styles and preferences.

Currently, the platform boasts approximately 160,000 game titles in its database and over 3.9 million user-generated reviews, which support its recommendation algorithms and targeted marketing campaigns.

Speaking with a VietnamPlus reporter, Mr. Cho Sung-hee emphasized that "targeted, cross-platform marketing based on real gameplay data" is Minimap's core strength. While marketing solutions using gameplay data from individual platforms exist, Minimap proudly stands as the only service currently integrating gameplay data from all four major platforms – allowing campaigns to reach not just players but also those genuinely enjoying the game at the moment.

Minimap identifies key partners and potential clients among game publishers and developers worldwide. The platform uses accumulated user data to precisely identify the target player group for each advertiser and design campaigns tailored to their game genre, preferences, and community behavior.

This helps publishers achieve their goals of not only increasing downloads but also attracting quality players and fostering deeper community interaction – while providing players with a suitable gaming experience free from irrelevant advertisements.

Minimap currently maintains monthly advertising campaigns with major game publishers such as Bandai Namco, SEGA, and 2K, while also expanding to independent game development studios. Minimap successfully entered the North American market in the summer of 2023, attracting local players and partners.

In 2025, the company officially launched its expansion into the Southeast Asian market. Minimap's goal for 2026 is to expand its user base and services in Southeast Asia and North America, while also seeking partnerships with potential global publishers such as Sony, Microsoft, EA, and SEGA.

Minimap was also selected as one of the top 5 companies representing North American market expansion at COMEUP STARS, one of the largest startup conferences in South Korea. They will be holding a booth at the event in mid-December and their next plan is to appear at the SXSW 2026 global content festival in Austin, Texas (USA).

At the Pangyo Global Media Meet-Up, Minimap shared this global strategy map with a VietnamPlus reporter, affirming that Vietnam is a key market in Southeast Asia and committing to pursuing long-term partnerships and expanding the player community there.

Minimap stated that they will tap into the Vietnamese market – a market with great potential on both mobile and PC – by combining elements such as targeted marketing based on gameplay data, building a strong community, and a triangular collaboration between players, global publishers, and the Minimap platform to become a new game marketing hub for publishers, players, and strategic partners in Vietnam.
