Factors that helped Vietnam U23 win the regional championship in 2022
On their homepage, Binh Phuoc FC announced that center-back Tran Quang Thinh has officially joined the team. In their introductory message, the team from the Southeast region described Quang Thinh as a "steel shield" and described him as possessing a warrior spirit, fierce determination in every tackle, and a burning desire to prove himself with every run. "Having been the leader of the U.23 Vietnam defense that won the Southeast Asian championship, Quang Thinh is not flashy or flamboyant, but he is always ready to give his all for the team's colors," the club said about their newest signing.
Tran Quang Thinh, born in 2001, graduated from the People's Police Academy and was part of Hanoi Police FC's V-League 2023 championship-winning team. He was once dubbed "Dinh Trong 2.0" for his calm, passionate playing style and ability to command the defense. At the 2022 Southeast Asian U23 Championship, Quang Thinh was entrusted with the captain's armband by coach Dinh The Nam. The 24-year-old center-back was a key factor in helping Vietnam's U23 team win the championship in Cambodia.

In 2024, Quang Thinh had a loan spell at HAGL from Hanoi Police FC. After that, the central defender played for Nam Dinh FC for one season (from August 2024 to July 2025). Currently, Quang Thinh has joined Binh Phuoc FC, aiming to regain his form and compete for a starting position. The former Vietnam U23 defender is expected to become a strong and fighting player in the "Green Warriors" squad. "Welcome Quang Thinh to Binh Phuoc FC, this land will be the place to fuel your aspirations," the team wrote.
Binh Phuoc Club stirs up the transfer market.
Less than a month after the 2024-2025 season ended, Binh Phuoc FC stirred up the transfer market with a series of deals. Before welcoming former Vietnam U23 captain Tran Quang Thinh, the team from the Southeast region added Duong Van Khoa and Tran Trong Hieu. Most notably, they successfully recruited two former HAGL stars: Luong Xuan Truong (from Ha Tinh FC) and Tran Minh Vuong (from HAGL). Fans are now eagerly awaiting the reunion of players once considered "Bau Duc's favorites," such as Cong Phuong, Xuan Truong, and Minh Vuong.

Last season, Binh Phuoc FC came very close to securing a place in the V-League, but ultimately had to stop short after a disappointing defeat in the play-off match (losing to Da Nang FC). This experience has become a strong motivation for the Binh Phuoc team to enter the new season with even greater determination than ever before.
