Cong Phuong faded, Binh Phuoc's winning streak ended

(NLDO) - Cong Phuong had an unremarkable match and Binh Phuoc was held to a 1-1 draw by Dong Nai in round 17 of the 2024-2025 First Division.

During the away match at Dong Nai Stadium on the afternoon of May 4, Cong Phuong and his teammates were unable to maintain Truong Tuoi Binh Phuoc 's winning streak or shorten the gap with the top team.

Cong Phuong and his teammates had many difficulties launching attacks at the beginning of the match.

In the opposite direction, the home team repeatedly created trouble for Binh Phuoc's goal in the first 10 minutes.

Goalkeeper Tan Truong also had to show his talent to save the goal in the 3rd minute.

It was not until the 33rd minute that the match was finally broken. Manh Hung (left cover) rushed in to score a goal against the home team after Dong Nai 's goalkeeper failed to block it well.

Dong Nai tried to find an equalizer but the game was still somewhat in favor of the away team before entering the break.

In the second half, Quoc Khanh equalized 1-1 for Dong Nai. The ball was hung into Binh Phuoc's penalty area from a set piece, Quoc Khanh jumped high and headed the ball, hitting the ground, making it impossible for Tan Truong to block.

The match was brought back to the starting line, Cong Phuong and his teammates tried to push up and made many personnel changes but still could not score a second goal.

In the end, Binh Phuoc was held to a 1-1 draw by host Dong Nai, ending a 5-match winning streak in the 2024-2025 First Division. Although Binh Phuoc only won 1 point, they still maintained their second place in the table. Coach Quoc Anh assessed that his team still has the advantage and the right to decide against their competitor (PVF-CAND) for the play-off spot to promote to the V-League next season.
