Da Nang has put into operation Software Park No. 2 with an investment of nearly VND 1,400 billion, creating favorable conditions for the development of information technology, semiconductors and artificial intelligence in the coming time.
On January 16, the People's Committee of Da Nang City held a ceremony to announce the Decision to expand and inaugurate the Concentrated Information Technology Park and Software Park No. 2.

Software Park No. 2 is a key project of Da Nang, started in October 2020, with a total investment of nearly 1,400 billion VND.
The project is located on Nhu Nguyet Street (Hai Chau District), with office blocks of 8-20 floors. This is a key project of the city, expected to have 6,000 IT engineers working.
Speaking at the ceremony, Chairman of the Da Nang People's Committee Le Trung Chinh said that the city organized the opening ceremony of Software Park No. 2 and put into use the ICT1 Building with 8 floors, total construction floor area of over 39,000m2, exploitation area of 21,000m2; in which priority is given to strategic partners, strategic investors, small businesses, innovative businesses in the field of semiconductors and artificial intelligence.
According to Mr. Chinh, up to now, more than 30 businesses have registered their demand to rent offices at ICT1 Building with a total registered area of about 25,000m2, exceeding the building's rental area.
Mr. Chinh said that after more than 15 years of efforts, Da Nang has continued to form another software park. The city currently has 4 concentrated IT parks, along with the IT parks under construction planning, which have promoted the economic restructuring of the city. From a software outsourcing place in the early days, Da Nang has now shifted to developing the production of IT products and services.
The putting into use of Software Park No. 2 is expected to contribute to the development of the digital technology industry with an annual revenue growth rate of 2-2.5 times the city's GRDP growth rate. By 2030, the digital economy will account for 35-40% of the city's GRDP.
The Chairman of the People's Committee of Da Nang City stated that the city aims to complete the goal: "By 2030, complete the construction of a smart city that synchronously connects smart urban networks in the country and Southeast Asia" and by 2045, "Da Nang City will become a large, ecological and smart city, a center for startups, innovation and a livable coastal city reaching the level of the Asian region in the spirit of Resolution No. 43-NQ/TW of the Politburo".
