According to Prensa Latina, from July 1, passports of Cuban citizens over 16 years old will be valid for 10 years, while passports of Cuban citizens under this age will be valid for 5 years.
Cuba also eliminated the requirement to renew passports every two years and equalized residency permits for foreigners and expatriates. Previously, passports for adult Cubans were valid for six years and citizens had to renew them every two years at a high cost. The newly announced migration policy updates aim to facilitate travel and increase the participation of Cubans living abroad in the country's political , economic and social life.
