According to Editor-in-Chief of Ho Chi Minh City Law Newspaper Mai Ngoc Phuoc, “Lighting up the sea with fishermen” is a social charity program with important political significance and noble humanistic values. In 2023, the program reached fishermen in 9 coastal provinces and cities across the country.
Along with that are legal communication activities that are very close to the fishermen's lives, suitable for each locality, close to reality and effective. Contributing to the goal of removing the "yellow card" as the Government's action plan has issued. At the same time, creating a great source of inspiration, sympathy and sharing from the whole country towards fishermen - those who often go to sea, to places with strong winds and waves not only to earn a living, but also to contribute greatly to the exercise of sovereignty, jurisdiction and protection of national sovereignty.
Speaking at the ceremony, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Da Nang City Tran Chi Cuong said that, located in the center of the country, the city is identified by the Government as a locality with a geopolitical, economic, security and defense position of the country and is one of the five major fishing centers of the country, associated with the Hoang Sa fishing grounds. In recent times, the city government has paid special attention to implementing the goal of developing fisheries effectively and sustainably in association with ensuring national defense and security.
Thereby, many support policies and management solutions were promptly issued, suitable to the actual conditions of the locality, on investing in the synchronous completion of fisheries infrastructure at Tho Quang fishing port and fishing dock; strengthening the management of exploitation, protection and development of aquatic resources, ensuring safety for people and fishing vessels; modernizing fisheries management at sea, combating illegal, unreported and unregulated (IUU) fishing...
The focus on organizing and implementing solutions to support fisheries development has promptly resolved the difficulties of the city's fishermen, thereby enabling fishermen to develop a new fleet of offshore fishing vessels fully equipped with modern machinery and technological equipment, ensuring communication.
