This is a project that is about to be launched to the audience when performing arts activities are "opened" again after days of social distancing due to the Covid-19 epidemic. Talking about the new project and also a meaningful gift marking the 12th anniversary of his career, artist Dang Tri Duc said: "For a long time, the characters in Vietnamese fairy tales have always haunted me. Each character comes from a story with profound humanistic meaning. The personality of each character captivates me when reading and contemplating. I thought about how to create a sand painting that will be the scenery, creating space, time, magic, combined with the vivid transformations of the shadow puppets as the main characters, both creating a beautiful picture, the dialogue and singing of the characters blend with the music of Southern amateur music. I believe that only sand paintings when combined with shadow puppets can convey the full spirit of each fairy tale character. In the past time, I focused on researching the script layout and the creation of images, how these two languages will combine to clearly convey the message: Let's cherish Vietnamese folk tales, where we believe in victory and reach success".

According to artist Dang Tri Duc, this community project was funded by himself. Initially, it will be performed at cultural centers and schools serving young audiences. After that, it will be offered to travel agencies and stages that organize cultural events to target young audiences and tourists when all activities return to normal.
After a long journey of being attached to sand painting, recently, artist Dang Tri Duc and many artisans of this art have established the Vietnam Sand Painting Association, operating with the direction of exchanging experiences and passing on the profession. He has also just completed the teaching curriculum of sand painting performance art to present to the University of Theatre and Cinema in Ho Chi Minh City - where he was trained as a director, with the hope that this subject will be taught to the young generation in the near future.
