To commemorate the 78th anniversary of the Day of War Invalids and Martyrs (July 27, 1947 – July 27, 2025), on July 18th in Hanoi , the Vietnam Women's Publishing House, Vietnam Women's Newspaper, Vietnam Women's Museum, and the Center for Supporting Women's Development organized the program "Memories Never Close," an exchange and book launch for "Dang Thuy Tram and Her Third Diary."

According to Khuc Thi Hoa Phuong, Director and Editor-in-Chief of the Vietnam Women's Publishing House, in 2005, two war diaries of female doctor and martyr Dang Thuy Tram, after 35 years of being hidden in the United States, were returned to her family by American veterans. Thanks to this, the "Dang Thuy Tram Diary" was published and widely known. To date, more than half a million copies have been distributed in Vietnam, and the book has been translated into 23 languages worldwide , deeply moving and inspiring many people with its portrayal of the Vietnamese spirit during the resistance against the US. Numerous events and activities have been organized to honor the image of female doctor, martyr, and Hero of the Armed Forces Dang Thuy Tram. The "flame" of Dang Thuy Tram, the vitality of her war diaries, has remained strong for the past 20 years.

In 2025, the third diary entry was compiled into a book by Dang Kim Tram, the younger sister of the female doctor and martyr Dang Thuy Tram, who is primarily responsible for the doctor's posthumous works. Along with other related documents, the book, published by the Women's Publishing House, allows readers to look back at the complete story of an extraordinary individual – an ordinary soldier in wartime – helping us to learn more about the portrait of Dang Thuy Tram, her youth, intellect, and the culture of a Hanoi woman.
Regarding her sister's third diary, author Dang Kim Tram stated that this is the third diary of martyr Dang Thuy Tram to reach readers, but it actually predates the other two. The female doctor wrote it in her final years before volunteering for the battlefield and entrusted it to her mother for safekeeping.

According to Ms. Dang Kim Tram, this book aims to provide a more complete picture of the childhood, family, thoughts, and concerns of Dr. Dang Thuy Tram, whom her family called Thuy, when she was a student; her dreams of a scientific career, a literary career, happiness, and living in peace .
“Dang Thuy Tram and the Third Diary” is 384 pages long and consists of two parts: “The Ideal Class” and “The Bridge Across the Dividing River.” In addition to Dr. Dang Thuy Tram’s diary, it also includes letters to family and friends; memoirs by Ms. Doan Ngoc Tram – Dr. Dang Thuy Tram’s mother; and articles by author Dang Kim Tram and the doctor’s siblings.
The childhood, adolescence, and a beautiful part of her youth are recounted, along with memories of family and friends in the peaceful capital city of Hanoi, with her heart turned towards her beloved South. The writings paint a picture of a Dang Thuy Tram full of femininity, youthful energy, and a heart overflowing with love for her country, family, loved ones, and friends.
One thing that once aroused much curiosity was the unfulfilled love affair between Dr. Dang Thuy Tram and M., a talented soldier from South Vietnam. In this book, that love affair is depicted from many different perspectives, authentic and very "realistic"...
The book dedicates the latter part to recounting the thrilling and moving journey of Dang Thuy Tram's two war diaries returning to their rightful place after 35 years; stories after "Dang Thuy Tram's Diaries" were published, such as the search for the first person from the "other side" who read Dang Thuy Tram's diaries and prevented them from being burned, the trip to America to retrieve the two lost diaries, and the story of the great mother of the great daughter...
