At the Da Nang Museum, the new high-tech exhibition spaces have proven that digital transformation is not only a way to keep up with trends but also an opportunity to spread heritage to a wider audience, especially the younger generation. The liveliness of digital exhibition spaces has contributed to bringing heritage closer to modern life.
Da Nang Museum has quickly implemented a project to build a heritage map of Da Nang and update 2D and 3D of all heritages and famous relics in the area to serve tourists. This is digital data for the museum to update all changes in the status of relics in the area and have a database to propose solutions for conservation and restoration in an original way. In particular, each artifact will be equipped with an electronic chip.
Currently, the unit is cooperating with Vietnam Artificial Intelligence Joint Stock Company - AIAIVN to experiment with application technologies such as Lumi robot, information lookup application and pilot implementation of multilingual explanation application including English, Chinese, French, Korean, Japanese, Russian.

The learning and discovery space for children at Da Nang Museum is modernly designed with vivid multi-dimensional images.

According to Director of Da Nang Museum Huynh Dinh Quoc Thien, after connecting and coordinating with Vietnam Artificial Intelligence Joint Stock Company - AIAIVN to implement the Smart Museum Project, the unit will propose that the city continue to invest in converting similar databases into museums in the city such as the Museum of Cham Sculpture, Da Nang Fine Arts Museum, Military Zone 5 Museum, and Hoang Sa Exhibition House.
Not only Da Nang Museum, the system of museums and relics in Da Nang city has begun to focus on applying technology in professional activities, such as digitizing artifacts, automatic multilingual explanations, online exhibitions, and online classes.
In particular, the Da Nang Fine Arts Museum launched the online exhibition space “DNFam Online Gallery”. With an eye-catching, impressive and fast interface, the exhibition space has partly met the needs of the public to visit and enjoy the museum from afar. At the same time, the Da Nang Fine Arts Museum also coordinated with organizations, individuals and artists to organize art exhibitions on the online exhibition space “DNFam Online Gallery”.
Not out of the trend, Da Nang Cham Sculpture Museum has successfully applied technology to selecting, preserving and displaying artifacts.
For the preservation of 12 artifacts that are National Treasures, the Cham Sculpture Museum applies AI technology (RFID) to monitor and warn the treasures, deploying a smart camera system integrated with AI technology, allowing image recognition and behavior analysis in real time.
The Da Nang Museum of Cham Sculpture aims to apply AI technology (RFID tagging) to exhibits on display, including national treasures, to enhance the ability to monitor and protect artifacts, and issue timely warnings if there is any illegal or unusual removal.
In addition, deploying a smart camera system integrated with AI technology, allowing image recognition and real-time behavior analysis. The system is trained to automatically detect abnormal behaviors such as unauthorized intrusion, leaving foreign objects, or inappropriate interactions with artifacts.
Discussing the importance of digital transformation for relics and museums in Da Nang city, Ms. Nguyen Thi My Huong, co-founder and chief growth officer (CGO) of Vietnam Artificial Intelligence Joint Stock Company - AIAIVN, said: How to increase the experience of visitors, education and bring museums to tourists. In parallel with digitizing all artifacts and destinations, museums need to build a technology system so that in a few years they can understand the needs of visitors to have personalized suggestions.
Emphasizing the need for digital technology for museums and relics, Ms. Tran Thi Anh Thu, Director of the Military Region 5 Museum, said that the Military Region 5 Museum is developing a project to build a new museum and will deploy it in 2026. Hopefully, in the near future, technology applications will be applied to the museum to better serve the public.
