Dak Nong supports farmers to speed up autumn-winter crop production

Việt NamViệt Nam25/09/2024

According to the leaders of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, farmers in the province have sown over 2,300 hectares out of 18,786 hectares of autumn-winter crops. This result is over 12% of the plan, nearly 1,200 hectares lower than the same period last year.

The reason for the slow progress of the autumn-winter crop is due to the impact of the weather, especially heavy rains that slow down the harvest of summer-autumn crops and slow down land preparation and sowing of autumn-winter crops.

Farmers in the whole province have planted over 2,300 hectares of crops for the 2024 autumn-winter crop.

Currently, the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development and localities are continuing to promote measures to support, encourage and urge people to plant seeds and take care of crops.

For growing areas that are likely to be flooded due to the effects of storms and tropical depressions, farmers should proactively clear the flow, create drainage ditches around the fields, and dredge ditches to drain water as quickly as possible.

The province develops production in the direction of diversifying crop and variety structures to diversify products, improve quality, and minimize risks in production.

The Department of Agriculture recommends that people increase investment in intensive farming, use new, short-term varieties with high productivity and good quality, improve output and quality of agricultural products, and meet the increasing demand of consumers.
