Truong Sa Island gives gifts to fishermen to avoid the monsoon

Báo điện tử VOVBáo điện tử VOV09/02/2024

Due to the influence of the monsoon, there are currently 10 fishing boats (including 3 fishing boats from Khanh Hoa province, 7 fishing boats from Binh Dinh province), with 65 fishermen operating during Tet in Truong Sa fishing grounds, entering Truong Sa island's fishing port to take shelter. Officers and soldiers of the island have coordinated with the fishing port staff to guide and help fishermen to anchor, tie boats, equipment, and fishing gear securely, ensuring safety.

Leaders and commanders of Truong Sa Island, Truong Sa Border Guard Station 394 and Truong Sa Ship Wharf met, encouraged and presented gifts to 10 fishing boats, each gift worth 500,000 VND including: 5 national flags, 2 banh chung, 5 kg of rice, 1 box of instant noodles, 10 packages of candy, tea and fish sauce.

This is a practical and meaningful work, demonstrating the solidarity between the army and the people on the eve of the New Year, celebrating the traditional New Year with fishermen on the sea and islands of the Fatherland, encouraging fishermen to overcome difficulties, continue to stick to the sea and fishing grounds, thereby contributing to protecting the sovereignty of the sea and islands of the Fatherland.
