To exploit all the benefits of electronic contact books

Electronic Contact Book (ELB) is an online software system with many existing features that help connect schools, teachers and parents. After many years of use in schools, in reality, many features of the ELB have not been fully exploited and used.

Lang Chanh High School, Linh Son Commune currently has 1,157 students and 65 staff and teachers. In the 2025-2026 school year, the school has decided to establish a team to apply information technology, digital transformation and guide the implementation of school year tasks to strongly promote digital transformation activities in the school.

Teacher Le Duy Thien, Vice Principal in charge of Lang Chanh High School, shared: “The SLLĐT system belonging to the VnEdu education ecosystem was put into use by the school many years ago and is currently showing good results with 100% of parents registering to use it. The school has used the SLLĐT system to store student records and data, helping parents to access it at any time, even after their children have graduated. In particular, the biggest benefit that the school sees is the transparency in managing student scores. With clear decentralization and authorization, all operations to correct scores when teachers enter errors must have a written report for authentication and record keeping, then must be approved by the management level and have a clear trace on the system. This helps to improve the accuracy, fairness and transparency in student assessment.

In addition, the VnEdu Education Ecosystem also has many other important features such as: Financial management list, facilities management list, staff, teachers, employees, students management... In each category, there are different information fields such as in the category of staff, teachers, employees management, there will be information fields on professional assignment, competition tracking... However, it must be admitted that the school has not been able to fully exploit the potential and utilities of the VnEdu Education Ecosystem. The reason is due to human and financial resources.

In many schools, especially in remote and mountainous areas, the implementation of SLLĐT still faces difficulties in terms of equipment and usage habits.

Teacher Nguyen Thi Ngoc, Principal of Linh Son Primary School, Linh Son Commune, said: "The VnEdu digital education ecosystem has many useful features for teaching and learning. However, because many parents have not fully grasped the benefits of the digital education ecosystem and think that the digital education ecosystem is only used to text parents and is not necessary because there are class zalo groups, the school has not put the digital education ecosystem into use this school year."

One of the reasons why many parents think that SLLĐT is not really necessary is because the 2-way interaction feature is rarely used, information is mainly transmitted one-way from the school to parents, while urgent notifications or detailed exchanges still have to be made via zalo groups. In addition, there are also very few features of SLLĐT that parents can use.

In fact, in more than 10 years of implementation, the VnEdu 4.0 platform has been completed by VNPT with the ability to connect data between systems such as electronic records, electronic transcripts, online learning platforms (LMS), primary school admission systems... All of which form a unified digital education solution from management to teaching and learning. In particular, SLLĐT has many features to support connections between schools, teachers and parents. The application allows direct exchange and storage of messages between parents and homeroom teachers, subject teachers right on the platform without using intermediary channels such as Zalo or Messenger. Parents can also track their children's daily study schedules and learning results on the system...

However, currently, most schools only use SLLĐT at a basic level such as sending score messages, notifications, collecting contributions according to regulations... while many other useful features have not been exploited. Therefore, it is necessary to continue to have a closer connection between the supplier, schools, and parents in training and instructions for use. The parties also need to build a clear mechanism on evaluation criteria, service prices, data update responsibilities and user rights... so that SLLĐT becomes a synchronous learning management system, contributing to the modernization of educational management in the context of the education sector's efforts to comprehensively digitize.
