Proposal for support regime for staff of specialized schools

The Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training has just announced the completion of a project on support for staff working at public specialized schools and centers for supporting inclusive education development in the city.

The project is currently seeking feedback from relevant departments and agencies before being submitted to the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee for appraisal and approval. This project stems from the fact that current support schemes, including preferential allowances and responsibility allowances, only apply to management staff and teachers in specialized schools; teaching allowances are for teachers teaching children with disabilities in inclusive education at public schools, while support staff at specialized schools and centers for inclusive education development do not receive any support.

Recently, at the conference summarizing the work of special education in the first semester of the 2023-2024 school year, the Deputy Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training, Nguyen Bao Quoc, affirmed that special schools and centers supporting inclusive education development need to be more proactive in implementing the policy of socialization to increase resources for their units, thereby improving educational effectiveness. In the context of limited personnel and financial resources, the city will continue to pay close attention to and help schools balance their staffing and ensure financial resources to improve operational efficiency.
