On the university side, Master Nguyen Thanh Tung, Deputy Head of the Department of Training, Science Management and International Cooperation of Ho Chi Minh City University of Culture, supports the use of transcripts for university admission. However, according to Mr. Tung, the admission method based on transcripts should be based on the learning results of students throughout the 3 years of grades 10, 11 and 12.

Meanwhile, Dr. Pham Tan Ha, admissions and training consultant of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities (Ho Chi Minh City National University), supports the view of not using transcript scores in university admissions because transcript scores are considered unfair among students. Dr. Pham Tan Ha suggested: "If we continue to use transcript scores for admissions, there should be general regulations on using the results of all three years of study. Only then will students make full efforts to study throughout the process to achieve the best results."

Similarly, Master Cu Xuan Tien, Head of Admissions and Student Affairs Department of University of Economics and Law (Ho Chi Minh City National University), said: "Student transcripts should be eliminated or if considered, they should be combined with other criteria and the proportion of student transcripts in the synthesis method should be reduced."

On the contrary, most private universities want to maintain enrollment based on academic records. Master Trinh Huu Chung, Vice Principal of Gia Dinh University, stated his opinion: "Let the schools be autonomous in enrollment. Any method is fine, as long as the schools take responsibility, because training quality is the vital issue of the university."

Dr. Pham Dinh Trung, Principal of Yersin University in Dalat, said: "If we are worried about considering transcripts affecting the quality of input, we should first clarify the issue of whether the quality of training at high schools is uneven and whether transcripts do not reflect the true capacity of students. If that is true, we need to come up with a solution for high schools, not to eliminate the method of considering transcripts."

Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Vu Quynh, Vice Principal of Lac Hong University, said that the review of transcripts should still be maintained because the advantage of reviewing transcripts is that it reflects the long-term learning process, reduces exam pressure, creates more opportunities and initiative for candidates, but it can only play a supplementary role, combined with exam scores to ensure fairness and create diverse opportunities for candidates.

From the perspective of high schools, Mr. Huynh Thanh Phu, Principal of Bui Thi Xuan High School (Ben Thanh Ward, Ho Chi Minh City), commented: "Reviewing transcripts is not to "lower standards", but to look at students' abilities from a more comprehensive perspective. Eliminating the review of transcripts means losing an important assessment channel, which goes against the spirit of open education ."

Mr. Nguyen Hung Khuong, Principal of Ernst Thälmann High School (Ben Thanh Ward, Ho Chi Minh City), said that there should be a combination of many methods such as transcript results, high school graduation exams and competency assessments. Each method has a reasonable weight, to both record the long-term training process of students and ensure objectivity in the selection process.

On the student side, Truong Chi Thanh, class 12A10, Nguyen Hien High School (Binh Thoi Ward, Ho Chi Minh City), shared: "I think this is a policy towards fairness because academic records can be affected by different scoring criteria between schools, even between teachers, differences in regions, provinces... The high school graduation exam is a common measure for all candidates across the country, with the same exam, the same scoring scale and the assessment will be objective, fair, and of the right quality."
