On the morning of June 19th, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training officially announced the exam results for over 98,000 candidates who took the entrance exam for 10th grade in the 2024-2025 school year.
According to statistics, the Foreign Language subject continued to see a "flood" of perfect scores (10/10), with a total of 1,707 candidates achieving this score (in 2023, there were 2,147 candidates with a perfect score). More than 14,700 students scored 9 or higher.
In Mathematics, 49 candidates scored 10; 31 candidates scored 9.75; and 276 candidates scored 9. Over 2,000 candidates scored 8 points or higher.
In addition, about 50% of candidates scored below average, compared to 46% last year. There were 82 candidates who scored 0.
Candidates and parents can access the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training's admissions website to check exam results.
The method for calculating admission scores to 10th grade in public high schools is as follows:
Admission score = Literature exam score + Foreign language exam score + Mathematics exam score + Priority points (if any).
After the exam results are announced, if candidates wish to appeal, they can submit their applications from June 21st to 24th.
The Department of Education and Training is expected to announce the cut-off scores for specialized, integrated, and direct admission 10th-grade classes at 4 PM on June 24th.
From June 25th to 4 PM on June 29th, candidates admitted to specialized, integrated, and direct admission classes must submit their enrollment documents to the school they have been admitted to. Candidates who do not submit their enrollment documents will have their names removed from the list of admitted students.
On June 30th, the results of the review process were announced.
On July 5th, specialized and integrated high schools will hold a supplementary admissions ceremony for candidates who passed the review process.
The cut-off scores for 10th grade and the list of successful candidates for the 2024-2025 school year are expected to be announced on July 10th.
In 2024, Ho Chi Minh City had 98,681 candidates registering to take the 10th grade entrance exam, of which public high schools admitted more than 77,300 students.
The exam took place on June 6-7, with candidates taking three subjects: Mathematics, Literature (120 minutes), and Foreign Language (90 minutes). Candidates applying for specialized, integrated classes also took an additional corresponding exam within 150 minutes.
Specifically, the Literature exam had 98,418 candidates, with 263 absent. The Foreign Language exam had 98,375 candidates, with 306 absent. The Mathematics exam had 98,361 candidates, with 320 absent. The specialized subject exam had 7,574 candidates, with 50 absent.
