Delegation of Nghe An province visited and celebrated the traditional Bunpimay New Year in Savannakhet province (Laos)

The delegation included representatives of leaders of departments, agencies and branches: Department of Foreign Affairs, Department of Finance, Department of Planning and Investment, Management Board of Southeast Nghe An Economic Zone, and Provincial Border Guard Command.

Welcoming and working with the delegation, on the side of Savannakhet province, there was comrade Lingthong Sengtaavanh - Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Deputy Governor of Savannakhet province and comrades representing leaders of a number of relevant departments, branches and sectors.

On behalf of the Party Committee, government and people of Nghe An province, comrade Bui Thanh An thanked the thoughtful and warm welcome of the leaders of Savannakhet province. The delegation of Nghe An province presented gifts and congratulated the Party Committee, government and people of Lao ethnic groups in Savannakhet province on the occasion of the traditional Bunpimay New Year.

At the meeting, the two sides also discussed some important contents on the socio-economic situation of the two provinces in 2023 and the first quarter of 2024; at the same time, they reviewed the results achieved in the cooperative relationship between the two provinces over the past time.

The leaders of the two provinces affirmed that the cooperative relationship between Nghe An and Sa Van Na Khet provinces has been increasingly consolidated, developed and expanded; contributing to strengthening the great friendship, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between the two Parties and States in general as well as contributing to the socio-economic development of each province in particular.

The leaders of the two provinces also believe that in the coming time, the two sides will continue to promote the achieved results, together make more efforts to contribute to consolidating and developing the evergreen, everlasting friendship between Vietnam and Laos.
