From August 21-24, a delegation of the Communist Party of Vietnam, led by Comrade Pham Tat Thang, Member of the Central Committee and Deputy Head of the Standing Committee of the Central Committee's Mass Mobilization Department, visited and worked in Iran.
During the visit, Comrade Pham Tat Thang held meetings with the Secretary-General and Chairman of the Political -Security-Defense Committee of the Council for Unified Understanding, Ghadir Nezamipour; visited and worked with the Secretary-General of the Islamic Union Party, Assadollah Badamchian; the Chairman of the Alliance of Parties, Manouchehr Mottaki; the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Shaykh al-Islami; the Chairman of the Internal Affairs Committee of the Parliament; and paid a courtesy visit to the Chairman of the Iran-Vietnam Friendship Association, Seyed Kamal Sajadi.

During the meetings, Comrade Pham Tat Thang provided information on the situation in Vietnam; he highly appreciated Iran's achievements in maintaining security and political stability, developing its economy, becoming the world's 22nd largest economy, ensuring social welfare, and integrating into the international community.
Affirming that the Vietnamese Party and State attach great importance to relations with Iran, Comrade Pham Tat Thang proposed that both sides quickly implement the signed cooperation agreements, maximizing the potential and advantages of each country to consolidate and develop effective and substantive cooperation in the fields of politics and diplomacy, trade and investment, culture and education, science and technology, etc.

Iranian leaders expressed admiration for Vietnam's glorious history and achievements in national construction and development; affirming that Vietnam is a leading important partner in the Asia-Pacific region.
Iran wishes to deepen its solidarity, friendship, and cooperation with Vietnam, especially in areas where both sides have strengths and needs, striving to realize the $2 billion economic cooperation target set by the leaders of the two countries.

Both sides agreed to coordinate practical activities to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Iran (August 4, 1973 - August 4, 2023); strengthen exchanges of delegations at all levels; closely coordinate at international multilateral forums; encourage friendly relations and cooperation between mass organizations of the two countries; and promote business connections and people-to-people exchanges.
The delegation of the Communist Party of Vietnam also visited the Vietnamese Embassy in Tehran and learned about the situation of the Vietnamese community in Iran.
