On the morning of July 14, 2025, at the headquarters of the Vietnam Sports Administration (36 Tran Phu, Hanoi), the international delegation of Vovinam - Viet Vo Dao martial artists had an important working session and paid a courtesy call to Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Danh Hoang Viet - Director of the Vietnam Sports Administration.
Connecting – Dialogue – Preserving and promoting the value of Vietnamese martial arts in the international arena
The meeting was attended by Mr. Nguyen Hong Minh, Ms. Le Hoang Yen - Deputy Director of Vietnam Sports Administration, Mr. Tan Le Minh - Chief of Office of Vietnam Sports Administration, Mr. Hoang Quoc Vinh - Head of Information and Communications Department.

The working session is within the framework of the program "International Vovinam - Viet Vo Dao 2025 training course", organized by the World Vovinam - Viet Vo Dao Federation in coordination with the Vietnam Martial Arts Training Science Institute and the Vietnam Lion Dance Federation in Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi from July 5 to 14, 2025.
Honoring martial arts spirit - International connection
At the meeting, Dr. Vo Danh Hai - Vice President of the World Martial Arts Association, Director of the Center for Cooperation and Innovation under the Vietnam Martial Arts Training Science Institute - presented a comprehensive report on the special training program, highlighting the outstanding results:
Nearly 60 martial arts masters, coaches and students from 18 countries attended;
Connect with more than 150 students of IVS school system;
Activities to visit the ancestral temple, return to the source in Thach That and exchange performances in Hanoi - Ho Chi Minh City.
The meeting was attended by international martial arts delegations from countries Master Tran Nguyen Dao, President of the World Council of Martial Arts Masters, is the head of the delegation.
Representing the art coordination unit, People's Artist Trong Trinh - on behalf of the Vietnam Lion Dance Federation, presented the significance of the combination of martial arts - culture - folk performance, affirming that the training - inspiration model through traditional national values can become a bright spot in building Vietnamese cultural identity.
Recognition and guidance from state management agencies
Speaking at the reception, Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Danh Hoang Viet expressed his respect and appreciation for the efforts of the delegation and related units. He commented:
“The program has affirmed the international stature and cultural identity of Vietnamese martial arts. This is not only a professional activity, but also has diplomatic significance, contributing positively to the friendly relations between Vietnam and friends around the world – especially France.”
Two international martial arts masters presented souvenirs to Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Danh Hoang Viet - Director of the Vietnam Sports Department.
He was particularly moved when on July 14, 2025, the international martial arts delegation arrived in Hanoi, and chose this time to officially report to the Department of Sports and Physical Training, as a symbol of close cultural exchange between the two countries. He proposed to continue to maintain and expand similar models in the future, linking sports - culture - tourism.
Global vision and strategic operations
During the working session, Master Tran Nguyen Dao - President of the World Council of Masters of Vovinam - Viet Vo Dao World Federation - presented an overview of the global Vovinam movement, including systems operating in Europe, America, Africa, Australia and Asia.

He emphasized the special role of Vietnam in training, inheritance and organizing international events, and recommended continuing to build an international martial arts ecosystem with Vietnam as the center for training - testing - spreading values.
Expanding cooperation with tourism and culture industry
Also on the same day, the delegation had a working session with the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism, discussing the possibility of combining martial arts with the development of cultural - spiritual - community tourism.
The pilot models mentioned include:
- Martial arts tourism in Thach That (hometown of founder Nguyen Loc),
- Martial arts training courses combined with tourism in regions with martial arts history such as Binh Dinh, Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City.
- The working session brought many opportunities for cooperation with the tourism and culture industry.
- In particular, the delegation visited and paid a courtesy visit to Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Danh Thai - Former Minister, Chairman of the Sports and Physical Training Committee, President of the Vietnam National Olympic Committee, Former President of the World Vovinam Federation (WVVF) at his home in Tu Son, Bac Ninh. The meeting was filled with the affection of the successive generations in the Vietnamese martial arts community.

The meeting ended in a spirit of solidarity – openness – strategic cooperation, marking a memorable milestone in the journey of internationalizing Vovinam – Viet Vo Dao. The recognition from sports leaders, the presence of artists – scholars – teachers – managers, showed the strong influence of the martial arts model combined with culture – education – people’s diplomacy.
