On October 25, the signing ceremony of the United Nations Convention against Cybercrime ( Hanoi Convention) officially took place at the National Convention Center in Hanoi.

The Hanoi Convention marks the birth of a global legal instrument on cyberspace, the beginning of an era of worldwide cooperation in this field. The signing ceremony on October 25 was attended by more than 1,500 delegates from nearly 100 countries and 100 international and regional organizations.

The large presence of delegates from countries and international organizations not only shows the respect and appreciation for Vietnam's role, but also shows that ensuring security and safety in cyberspace is an issue receiving a lot of attention in the world.

Promote to the world, promote public-private cooperation in Vietnam

With a large number of delegates and the significance of the Hanoi Convention, Vietnam organized an international exhibition within the framework of the signing ceremony, thereby gathering and introducing to other countries the host country's capacity to ensure cyber security and safety.

At the same time, this is also a bridge for Vietnamese and foreign enterprises to meet, learn and discuss future cooperation opportunities. In that spirit, Deputy Prime Minister Bui Thanh Son took delegates and heads of international delegations attending the signing ceremony of the Hanoi Convention to visit and visit some booths at the exhibition on the afternoon of October 25.

According to some businesses, participating in the exhibition also aims to demonstrate the private sector's support for the Government in building a safe and autonomous digital space, and to promote public-private cooperation to protect information security and national digital sovereignty.

Mr. Truong Gia Binh, Chairman of the Board of Directors of FPT, shared that the Hanoi Convention is a great symbolic turning point, demonstrating that Vietnam is not only a participant, but also a country that creates and proposes global initiatives.

"FPT identifies protecting national cybersecurity as the top priority of Vietnamese technology enterprises," Mr. Binh added, believing that the "public-private co-creation" model is Vietnam's strength in ensuring cybersecurity and protecting Vietnam's sovereignty in the digital space.

At this exhibition, FPT brought 8 typical platforms, solutions, products and services. Of which, the most notable is the security monitoring platform applying artificial intelligence (AI) including QaiDora Vision and AI camera which has been selected to be deployed in a number of national projects.

The system is said to be able to detect and prevent up to 80% of potential incidents thanks to its AI-based early warning capabilities, real-time analysis of abnormal behavior such as fights, illegal intrusions or dangerous situations.

Compared with manual monitoring, the system has a response speed 3 to 5 times faster, thereby helping authorities intervene promptly and significantly reduce serious incidents in the monitoring area.

"The signing and implementation of the Hanoi Convention will directly impact the strategies and operations of cybersecurity businesses, especially in complying with international standards on security, investigation and incident handling.

Enterprises will have to strengthen their international cooperation capacity, proactively share incident data, participate in early warning mechanisms and support cross-border investigations," said Dang Tung Son, CMC's Strategy Director.

Vietnam is highly appreciated for its cybersecurity capacity.

In a speech before representatives of hundreds of countries and international organizations on the afternoon of October 25, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh said that in response to the harmful effects of cybercrime, Vietnam has issued many strategies, laws, and action programs to combat this type of crime.

At the same time, Vietnam also changed its strategic thinking from "passive defense" to "active, aggressive attack", building a "proactive, comprehensive cyber security posture", and gradually improving its "self-reliance - self-reliance - self-strengthening" capacity in cyber security.

Thanks to that, Vietnam has achieved positive results, affirming its position in the group of 46 leading countries in cyber safety and security.

Vietnam is also internationally recognized as a "model" with high commitment and capacity in cybersecurity, ranking 16th in the world, 3rd in ASEAN and 4th in Asia-Pacific in this field according to the 2024 Global Cybersecurity Index Report of the International Telecommunication Union.

The National Cyber Security Association has introduced nTrust anti-fraud software for smartphones that can detect signs of fraud by checking phone numbers, account numbers, website links and QR codes.

MobiFone Telecommunications Corporation (under the Ministry of Public Security) introduced the two-level public administration - digital government platform, deployed in Hanoi and Thai Nguyen and integrated solutions of biometric recognition, citizen reception kiosks, support robots...

Ericsson, a Swedish brand, also brought to the exhibition a number of hardware devices and solutions to ensure network safety and security. The group's leaders previously affirmed that they will continue to cooperate with Vietnamese partners in exchanging human resources, deploying 5G-related services and being ready to deploy 6G in the future.

The international exhibition was held at the National Convention Center in Hanoi on October 25 and 26.
