Vietnam, Poland strengthen cooperation in the field of cyber security

On October 27, 2025, in Hanoi, Politburo member and Minister of Public Security, General Luong Tam Quang, received Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Digital Affairs of the Republic of Poland, Krzysztof Gawkowski.

Welcoming the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Digital Affairs of Poland to attend the signing ceremony of the United Nations Convention against Cybercrime (Hanoi Convention) and visit and work with the Ministry of Public Security of Vietnam, Minister Luong Tam Quang emphasized that the Convention is a comprehensive and unified legal framework at the global level, a bridge for international cooperation in investigation and sharing of information on crime prevention between countries.

Minister Luong Tam Quang said that since Vietnam and Poland established diplomatic relations in 1950, the relationship between the two countries has been built and developed positively in all fields of politics - diplomacy, economics - trade, education and training, especially after Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh's visit to Poland in January 2025.

Affirming that Vietnam and Poland still have great potential and room to promote cooperation, especially cooperation between law enforcement agencies of the two countries in the fight against crime, Minister Luong Tam Quang expressed his delight that the two Ministries will sign a Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation in the field of cyber security between the Vietnamese Ministry of Public Security and the Polish Ministry of Digital Affairs during the visit of Deputy Prime Minister and Minister Krzysztof Gawkowski to Vietnam.

On this occasion, Minister Luong Tam Quang requested the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Digital Affairs of Poland to pay attention to promoting delegation exchanges at all levels between the two sides; sharing information and experiences, opening communication channels, and bilateral exchanges between relevant ministries and agencies in the work of preventing and combating transnational crimes, international terrorism, drug crimes, high-tech crimes; human trafficking crimes, illegal immigration and other crimes.

Promote cooperation in training and improving professional qualifications for law enforcement officers between the two countries; support each other's stance and policies on common international issues at regional and international forums; create favorable conditions for the Vietnamese community to stabilize their business and live legally in Poland; simplify visa procedures for Vietnamese citizens entering Poland for investment, trade, study and tourism activities, etc.

Speaking at the reception, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Digital Affairs of Poland Krzysztof Gawkowski acknowledged and highly appreciated the role and positive contributions of Vietnam in general and the Ministry of Public Security in particular in the work of building, perfecting and successfully organizing the signing ceremony of the United Nations Convention against Cybercrime, affirming that this is a symbol of the spirit of multilateralism in the fight against cybercrime.

Agreeing with Minister Luong Tam Quang on the need to strengthen political trust and promote effective implementation of cooperation agreements, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister Krzysztof Gawkowski affirmed that the Polish Ministry of Digital will closely coordinate with the Vietnamese Ministry of Public Security in implementing the Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation in the field of cyber security between the two sides, contributing to bringing the bilateral cooperation between the two countries in general and between the two ministries in particular to become increasingly in-depth, practical and effective.
