Representatives from Tui Blue Hotel in Tuy Hoa (Tuy Hoa ward, Dak Lak province ) stated that during the recent heavy rains and floods, floodwaters inundated the first floor reception area, while the basement containing equipment and systems for operating the building was completely submerged.
"Currently, the insurance company has assessed the damaged property to make compensation. We are not yet welcoming guests so that we can focus on repairing the damage. The hotel is expected to reopen before December 25th, to welcome guests for Christmas," said a representative of Tui Blue Tuy Hoa Hotel.
In the Cu Lao Mai Nha area (O Loan commune, Dak Lak province), Ms. Le Ngoc Anh, the owner of a restaurant serving tourists, choked up when mentioning the losses:
"The recent Typhoon No. 13 and subsequent flooding were so severe that the waves swept away all the awnings and furniture. The end-of-year season should have been busy, but now there's nothing left to open the shop with. We had to borrow money to repair it, but the damage is too great. People are hoping to access low-interest loan packages to help them recover from the losses," said Ms. Anh.

The Gành Đá Đĩa National Special Monument (Tuy An Đông commune, Đắk Lắk province) also suffered heavy damage. The toilet area had its roof blown off, rainwater flooded in and damaged equipment; trees were broken and fallen, and mud spilled onto the walkways, creating safety hazards and spoiling the overall landscape of the monument.
Ms. Tran Thi Bu, Deputy Director in charge of the Dak Lak Provincial Relics Management Board, said that the Ganh Da Dia relic site is now open to visitors, and the facilities serving tourists have been basically repaired to meet the needs of visitors.

According to Mr. Le Phuc Long, Deputy Director of the Dak Lak Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the damage caused by the storms and floods is extensive, especially at tourist destinations, accommodation facilities, and historical sites in the province. This has affected infrastructure and the local image, and repairs and restoration will require considerable time and human resources.
"The Department is currently compiling a list of damages at tourism facilities and is also proposing that relevant departments, agencies, and the Provincial People's Committee pay attention to allocating and supporting funds so that units and localities can quickly overcome the damage," Mr. Long said.
Mr. Ho Van Tien, Chairman of the Phu Yen Tourism Association, said that after the floods, businesses need to quickly inspect and compile a list of damages to facilities, machinery, and goods, and at the same time record the scene with photos and videos to use as a basis for reporting and requesting assistance.
Before resuming operations, businesses must ensure the safety of the electrical system and factory buildings, and clean and disinfect the flooded area.
Businesses also need to contact the People's Committee of the commune/ward and relevant authorities for review and guidance on receiving support policies, and work immediately with the insurance company to receive compensation for damages.
