The number of newly established enterprises is twice as high as the number of dissolved enterprises.

According to the Department of Planning and Investment of Ho Chi Minh City, in July 2023, Ho Chi Minh City had 4,525 newly established enterprises with a total registered capital of more than VND 49,600 billion.

The number of enterprises registering to return to operation was 1,168, the number of enterprises registering to temporarily suspend business was 2,367 and the number of enterprises dissolved was 310. Thus, in July, the number of newly established and returning enterprises was 2.12 times higher than the number of dissolved and temporarily suspended enterprises. Among the newly established enterprises, the majority were enterprises in the wholesale, retail, and auto and motorbike repair industries.

In general, from the beginning of 2023 to now, Ho Chi Minh City has granted licenses to establish 27,664 new enterprises, with registered capital reaching more than VND 261,167 billion, an increase of 9.3% in licenses.
