The delegation of the Handicraft Export Association led by Mr. Le Ba Ngoc, Vice President and General Secretary of the association, participated in the fair in the national trade promotion program 2024.

Participating in the annual Ambiente 2024 fair, the Vietnamese business delegation hopes to expand its export market in Europe, contributing to the goal of achieving a handicraft export turnover of 5 billion USD set by the government for 2025.

Europe has always been an important market for Vietnam's handicraft industry, accounting for about 30% of Vietnam's total handicraft export turnover of more than 3 billion USD today.

According to Mr. Le Ba Ngoc, the Russia-Ukraine conflict, the unstable situation in the Middle East and the Red Sea have affected the number of customers coming to Ambiente this year. However, almost all Vietnamese enterprises participating in the fair have signed memorandums of understanding to place orders.

In the handicraft industry, Vietnam has strengths in rattan and bamboo products. Of the 56 enterprises participating in Ambiente 2024, nearly 30 are related to this product.

Mr. Le Ngoc Thanh, Deputy Director in charge of technology of Quang Vinh Ceramic Company (Bat Trang, Gia Lam) said that Vietnamese ceramic products have the strength of high individuality but can still integrate with the world's trends in quality and design. Quang Vinh is a business that has been present at Ambiente for many years, receiving the reception of international customers, especially in terms of quality and design.

According to Mr. Thanh, fairs like Ambiente are the gateway for Vietnamese businesses to reach customers around the world to learn about the latest trends in their industry, and at the same time receive the earliest feedback from customers for their products.

This year, Vietnamese businesses brought to Ambiente many new products, appearing for the first time, such as products made from areca palm leaves, a material that replaces water hyacinth but is more durable and environmentally friendly, from Viet Anh Sedge Production and Processing Joint Stock Company in Nga An Commune, Nga Son District, Thanh Hoa Province. From areca palm leaves, talented craftsmen of Viet Anh Company have woven decorative flower baskets and beautiful and durable storage boxes.

Viet Tiep Crystal Glass Company also introduced its glass products for the first time at the Ambiente fair, although the company's products have been exported to Europe, South America and Southeast Asia. European customers were very surprised because it was the first time they knew that Vietnam had a company producing this item. At Ambience 2024, Viet Tiep Crystal also signed many memorandums of understanding for orders from customers in Italy, the Netherlands and South America.

Another important mission of the Vietnam Handicraft Export Association when participating in Ambiente 2024, according to Mr. Le Ba Ngoc, is to promote the Vietnam Lifestyle Fair held in Ho Chi Minh City in October 2024, with the motto of building a fair platform that meets international standards and inviting customers to Vietnam to buy goods, in addition to participating in international fairs with extremely high costs for businesses in the current difficult economic context.

Ambiente 2024 will have an exhibition area of over 360,000 square meters, attracting nearly 5,000 exhibitors from 170 countries to present the latest trends and the most innovative consumer products in four exhibition areas: kitchenware, furniture, gifts and office, fully meeting the needs of retailers and end consumers, from raw materials, equipment, to models and solutions.
