After more than three months from the initial design to the crafting process, 12 unique gold-plated trophies have finally been completed. This is a special gift from the organizers to the outstanding chess players at the KPNest 2024 chess tournament.

Reportedly, the gold-plated trophy for the KPNest chess tournament is 32 cm tall with a 7 cm base. The highlight of the trophy is the central chess piece, cast in a single piece and plated with gold. Ms. Phan Thi Thanh Truyen, General Director of KPNest Bird's Nest Development Joint Stock Company and Head of the KPNest Chess Tournament Organizing Committee, shared: "From the moment we decided to organize the tournament, in addition to the substantial cash prize of 50 million VND for the champion of each group (a total of 12 groups), the organizing committee also considered how to create a truly meaningful commemorative gift. Especially for the children who don't fully understand the value of money, this gold-plated trophy will be a priceless keepsake."
Ms. Phan Thi Thanh Truyen stated that the idea of swallows' wings embracing the king was incorporated into the trophy by the organizing team with the hope of empowering Vietnamese chess talents to soar to greater heights. Furthermore, gold symbolizes fire, aspiration, good fortune, success, and prosperity, so the organizers also instilled faith, motivation, and good luck in Vietnamese chess players on their journey to conquer glory and bring honor to Vietnamese chess on the international stage.

Also today, the KPNest Chess Tournament organizers finalized the list of participating players. The tournament attracted over 630 players, including international players from Croatia, Morocco, France, and the Philippines, but the largest number came from host country Vietnam. Players competed in 12 groups, including 6 men's and 6 women's groups. In each group, players competed in 15 games using the Swiss system, in a 3+2 blitz format (3 minutes per player, plus 2 seconds after each move).
Vietnam's number one chess player, Le Quang Liem, will participate in a friendly match before competing in the KPNest 2024 chess tournament.
The men's open category promises exciting competition with the participation of most of Vietnam's top players, including Le Quang Liem, Nguyen Ngoc Truong Son, Le Tuan Minh, Nguyen Huynh Minh Huy, Tran Tuan Minh, Tu Hoang Thong, Bui Vinh, Nguyen Anh Dung, Nguyen Van Huy... The women's category features Pham Le Thao Nguyen, Mai Thi Thanh Huong, Vo Thi Kim Phung, Luong Phuong Hanh, Do Hoang Minh Tho, Nguyen Thi Thanh An, Nguyen Thi Mai Hung...
The national chess referee training course aims to help referees officiate tournaments, including the upcoming KPNest chess tournament.
To ensure the tournament's success, the organizing committee is gradually finalizing all preparations. The professional aspects and tournament management are being handled by the Ho Chi Minh City Chess Federation. Mr. Hoang Thien, the tournament's chief referee, stated that the Ho Chi Minh City Chess Federation is currently organizing three referee training courses, attracting over 60 participants. Some referees who participated in these training courses will officiate at the KPNest chess tournament.
Besides the tournament, the event featuring Vietnam's number one chess player and 2013 World Blitz Chess Champion, Le Quang Liem, on November 30th at The Adora Center also attracted significant attention from chess players, especially young ones. Le Quang Liem is expected to play simultaneous exhibition matches against 35 other players.
