In his closing speech at the competition, Mr. Dinh Tan Hung, Director of the Institute of Space and Underwater Technology - Hanoi University of Science and Technology, said that, in response to the practical need to develop UAV (unmanned aerial vehicle) applications in all aspects of life and rescue and relief work in case of natural disasters, and at the same time, gradually building a team of human resources to master strategic product technology to form a "low-level economy " in the near future in Vietnam, the Institute of Space and Underwater Technology - an interdisciplinary research unit under Hanoi University of Science and Technology, together with the Vietnam Gas Corporation, built and implemented the first national-scale competition on UAV in Vietnam.
The competition scenario is built to suit the students' abilities in designing and manufacturing UAV products with sufficient intelligence combined with skillful control skills, overcoming obstacles simulating the task of providing energy bars in future cities as well as other urgent tasks.

More than 100 teams from schools across the country participated in the preliminary round and the 28 best teams entered the final round. Over nearly 3 months, the teams directly created products, practiced and experienced challenges with direct, transparent and public confrontation matches.
"This is also the wish of the Organizing Committee to send the message of building a new research culture with the young generation to conduct real research and manufacturing, real challenges, gradually forming real products that are competitive enough and meet practical needs in the future," said Mr. Dinh Tan Hung.
With the initial results achieved, in 2026, the Organizing Committee will continue to organize the UAV innovation contest with better scenarios, bigger challenges and an additional UUV innovation contest - creating smart diving equipment, scheduled to take place in July-August 2026.
