Previously, the bamboo shoots of the Pa Co and Van Kieu ethnic groups in Quang Tri province were mainly processed by hand, sun-dried or wood-dried. These methods depended on the weather, making the products susceptible to mold, discoloration, unevenness and not ensuring food safety.
Therefore, dried bamboo shoots are difficult to compete, unable to enter markets with high quality requirements. Meanwhile, the demand for clean food with clear origin is increasing, requiring a new direction.
The process of processing and producing high-quality dried bamboo shoots using heat pump drying technology implemented by the Center for Technology Transfer Research and Innovation under the Department of Science and Technology of Quang Tri has helped solve this problem.
