Notably, searches from Indian visitors increased the most with an increase of 186%. Malaysia also recorded an impressive growth of 74%, affirming Vietnam’s appeal as a favorite family travel destination in Southeast Asia and beyond.
Families choose Vietnam for its unique culture and cuisine , diverse landscapes and child-friendly resorts and entertainment venues.
Phu Quoc Island tops the list of most searched destinations for international families, with a 47% increase in searches, thanks to its white sand beaches, clear blue waters and natural parks.
This is the ideal destination for a multi-generational holiday. Da Nang follows with a 42% increase, featuring stunning beaches, easy-going activities and the Ba Na Hills theme park. Nha Trang takes third place, remaining a favourite thanks to its long coastline, family-friendly resorts and diverse island experiences.
In fourth place, Ho Chi Minh City attracts visitors with its rich cuisine, modern entertainment areas and day trips to the Mekong Delta. In the north, Hanoi still attracts visitors with its cultural heritage, museums and festive atmosphere, becoming the final piece in the top 5 ideal family destinations for the festive season in Vietnam.

According to Agoda, most Vietnamese families often choose to travel internationally less at the end of the year and prefer to wait until the Lunar New Year. This year, China has emerged as a notable exception, attracting the attention of many Vietnamese families. Specifically, in the top 20 foreign destinations most searched by Vietnamese families for the period December to January, interest in Shanghai increased by 58% and Beijing increased by 59%.
New direct flights from Hanoi to many Chinese cities have also contributed to this trend, making year-end overseas travel significantly easier.
“It is great to see Vietnam increasingly becoming the top choice for year-end family holidays across Asia and the world,” said Vu Ngoc Lam, Country Director of Agoda. “Agoda data shows that Vietnam is increasingly appreciated by families as a family-friendly destination, thereby affirming the country’s position on the global tourism map.”
