DOL English accompanies the top student of block B Tran Duc Tai

A mirror of determination

Tran Duc Tai (right) was overwhelmed with emotion when receiving a scholarship from Master Do Thi Ngoc Anh from DOL English.

It is known that in the recent National High School Graduation Exam, Tran Duc Tai excellently achieved the title of the only valedictorian in the country in block B with three absolute scores of 10 in math, chemistry, and biology.

However, the journey to conquer the absolute score of 30/30 of the young man from the province above was not easy. Because of his passion for medicine and also wanting to challenge himself, in grade 10, Duc Tai asked his family's permission to transfer from Ca Mau to Ho Chi Minh City to study. Facing many challenges of living far away from his family at a very young age as well as having to study a completely new program, Duc Tai still caught up with his urban friends.

"The new program requires students to think deeply to understand and effectively apply knowledge in practice. With the two subjects of chemistry and biology, I only read the old program books in advance, so when I entered the new program, it took me a lot of time to learn from both textbooks and external documents because the new requirements of these two subjects were very difficult. But thanks to reading documents every day and enthusiastic support from teachers, I was finally able to conquer them," Duc Tai shared.

In just 12th grade, Duc Tai won first prize in the Ho Chi Minh City Math Competition, and first prize in the Ho Chi Minh City Calculator Math Competition.

Confident in white blouse, excited about DOL English scholarship

Many medical students have trusted DOL English for their journey to conquer English.

When asked about his feelings about the future medical journey, which is sure to be full of challenges, Duc Tai affirmed that he is very confident because this has been his dream since he was very young. The Ca Mau boy also did not hide his ambition to find an opportunity to study abroad and win a foreign scholarship. However, he said that he was quite worried about this ambition because he had previously focused on subjects in group B, so his knowledge of subjects such as literature and English was limited.

That's why Duc Tai was overwhelmed with emotion when he received a surprise gift of an IELTS scholarship from DOL English at the end of the livestream.

"I was really surprised! Coming to the program today and sitting with the teachers and listening to many valuable shares from everyone was already very special to me. Now I also received such a meaningful gift from DOL English, so I must say that this afternoon's exchange was so beautiful and wonderful," Duc Tai emotionally shared.

The new valedictorian of Ho Chi Minh City University of Medicine and Pharmacy said he will strive to study both his major and English to repay everyone's trust and realize his ambition of "flying high and far" with the journey with the white blouse he has chosen.
