
In the 2025-2030 term, Dong Nai always identifies Long Thanh airport and Dong Nai river as potential, advantages, and important driving forces for economic development in the coming time. Therefore, Dong Nai has prepared the necessary conditions to maximize the advantages when Long Thanh airport comes into operation.
In particular, focusing on attracting investment and forming technology zones, focusing on investing in semiconductor, artificial intelligence, renewable energy projects, linked to Long Thanh airport. In particular, the two important projects are Long Thanh Concentrated Digital Technology Park and Dong Nai Innovation Park.
The Department of Science and Technology of Dong Nai province said that the unit has presided over and coordinated with relevant departments, branches and units to conduct a field survey of the boundaries of the area planned to establish the Long Thanh Concentrated Digital Technology Park. Up to now, the department has completed the 1/2,000 scale zoning planning task dossier and is awaiting project appraisal.
This project is one of three high-tech, digital technology, and innovation zones according to the Dong Nai Province Planning for the period 2021-2030, with a vision to 2050. The project aims to create a premise for the development of the digital technology industry, creating links in the technology chain and manufacturing digital technology products in the province. This project is expected to cover an area of about 119 hectares in 2 communes: Binh An and An Phuoc.
For the Dong Nai Innovation Zone Project, the Department of Science and Technology surveyed the location and consulted the Department of Construction on establishing a 1/2,000 scale zoning plan for this project, with an area of about 300 hectares in Binh An commune.

Long Thanh Airport and Phuoc An Port are two infrastructure projects in strategic locations, easily connecting Dong Nai province with major markets in the region and the world. Thereby, helping Dong Nai province have many conditions to develop integrated free trade zone models, aiming to become an international center of logistics, technology, trade, and innovation.
Dong Nai is researching and building a Free Trade Zone Project with a scale of about 8,200 hectares to take full advantage of Long Thanh Airport, Phuoc An Port and many industrial parks in the province.
This complex free trade zone is expected to have four functional sub-zones including: high-tech industrial production functional zone; logistics zone; financial and commercial services zone; and innovation zone.
Vice Chairman of Dong Nai Provincial People's Committee Le Truong Son affirmed that the projects of Long Thanh Concentrated Digital Technology Park, Dong Nai Innovation Park... have special significance in concretizing Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW of the Politburo on breakthroughs in science, technology development, innovation and national digital transformation in the province.
Therefore, the People's Committee of Dong Nai province requires relevant departments, branches and units to proactively ensure the progress and implementation process of the project in accordance with regulations and local planning. At the same time, it is necessary to pay attention to the connection with urban development projects and the Dong Nai Free Trade Zone Project in a suitable and effective manner to promote the strengths and potentials when Long Thanh Airport comes into operation.

During his visit and work at Long Thanh airport on November 13, General Secretary To Lam requested Dong Nai province to calculate synchronous investment in building an airport city, which must be placed in the overall plan to promote efficiency.
The General Secretary emphasized that Dong Nai must plan to take Long Thanh airport as the center, the focal point, and around the airport, areas must develop high-tech industry, tourist areas, urban areas, etc. Everything must be synchronized to be effective.
