Zidane has no intention of contacting Real Madrid. |
The Real Madrid legend has just become a shareholder in Union Club de Touraine, a team currently playing in the fifth division of French football.
According to AS , Zidane invested 10,000 euros in the team after being persuaded by Franck Riboud, the former CEO of Danone and a long-time close friend. Riboud is leading an ambitious project to promote Union Club de Touraine to the fourth division next season, bringing them closer to becoming a professional team in the near future. Zidane's investment is not only financially significant but also a boost to the image of this ambitious project.
This is not the first time Zidane has invested in football clubs. Previously, in 2011, through Riboud, he became a shareholder in Evian-Thonon-Gaillard, a team that made a name for itself by reaching the 2013 French Cup final and eliminating Carlo Ancelotti's PSG in the quarter-finals. In addition, Zizou also helped Rodez, his wife's hometown, overcome a period of potential bankruptcy.
Despite currently dedicating his time to legend-themed friendly matches and commercial activities, Zidane remains a leading candidate for the French national team's head coach position after the upcoming World Cup. Numerous sources claim that an agreement between him and the French Football Federation is almost complete, opening a new chapter for "Zizou" on the coaching bench.
