Dong Thap passed 11 important resolutions for socio-economic development.

On January 4, at the 3rd session held by the People's Council of Dong Thap province, term X, 2021-2026, delegates passed 11 important resolutions.

Resolutions such as approving the Project on zoning and construction of Cao Lanh III Industrial Park, Dong Thap province; Regulations on the level of support for agricultural production to restore production in areas damaged by natural disasters and epidemics in Dong Thap province; Regulations on tuition fees for public educational institutions and tuition support levels for children and students of private educational institutions in Dong Thap province from the 2025-2026 school year...

Closing the session, Ms. Chau Thi My Phuong, Chairwoman of the People's Council of Dong Thap province, requested the Provincial People's Committee and all levels and sectors to act more resolutely, responsibly and effectively to be able to complete the socio- economic goals and targets for 2025.

The Chairman of the People's Council of Dong Thap province requested to step up the information and propaganda work on the newly issued resolutions so that cadres, civil servants, public employees and people can correctly and clearly understand the content of the resolutions; promptly deploy and seriously and effectively implement the resolutions passed by the People's Council of Dong Thap province.

In the field of public investment, the Chairman of the Provincial People's Council emphasized the need to strictly implement the direction of the Central Government and the Dong Thap Provincial Party Committee in allocating and disbursing public investment capital in 2025, striving to achieve the targets according to the Government's plan. The work of developing a medium-term public investment plan for the period 2026-2030 must ensure practicality and feasibility; prioritizing the allocation of resources for driving projects to promote socio-economic development, and projects to prevent and combat landslides in the areas along the Tien and Hau rivers to protect people's property and lives.

Regarding natural disaster prevention and control, Ms. Chau Thi My Phuong requested relevant units to improve resource management and environmental protection, proactively develop plans to respond to storms, floods, and landslides; have fundamental and long-term solutions to cope with high tides, and minimize flooding.

Notably, in the face of the shortage of about 246 commune-level officials and civil servants, who are not qualified in terms of expertise and lack high-tech specialties (transportation, science-technology, information technology), the Chairman of the People's Council of Dong Thap province requested the Provincial People's Committee to focus on directing timely solutions. The urgent task is to perfect the organizational structure, arrange appropriate staff, ensure financial resources, especially at the commune level; at the same time, it is necessary to review, adjust, and supplement legal regulations, promote decentralization, and clearly delegate tasks, powers, and authorities between the provincial and commune levels, creating a clear legal corridor for the administrative apparatus to operate effectively.

Regarding the preparation for the election of deputies to the 16th National Assembly and People's Councils at all levels for the 2026-2031 term, the Chairman of the People's Council of Dong Thap province emphasized that this is a key political task, the highest goal is to ensure the election takes place democratically, in accordance with the law, safely and truly becomes a festival for all people. Localities must complete the establishment of commune-level election committees before November 15./.
