
According to the Department of Internal Affairs of Hai Duong province, the administrative unit reorganization plan for the period 2023-2025 in Hai Duong province has been approved by the Government and signed by the Minister of Internal Affairs for submission to the Standing Committee of the National Assembly. It is expected to be reviewed and approved by the Standing Committee of the National Assembly in the first half of October 2024.
According to the Department of Internal Affairs, Hai Duong is one of the provinces and cities that completed the administrative unit reorganization plan for the 2023-2025 period early. However, the consideration and approval process was selected and arranged by the Standing Committee of the National Assembly in groups of localities.
On the morning of September 28th, at the National Assembly building, the Standing Committee of the National Assembly approved a Resolution on the reorganization of administrative units for the period 2023-2025 in 13 provinces and cities, including: Can Tho, Bac Giang, Dak Lak, Dong Nai, Gia Lai, Khanh Hoa, Lao Cai, Ninh Thuan, Phu Yen, Quang Ninh, Thai Binh, Tien Giang , and Vinh Long.
The Resolution takes effect from November 1, 2024, except for Bac Giang province, which will take effect on January 1, 2025, to facilitate local preparation, organizational restructuring, and other necessary conditions for the operation of the administrative units formed after the reorganization.
During the period 2023-2025, Hai Duong province has 56 commune-level administrative units in 10 districts, towns, and cities undergoing restructuring (Chi Linh City and Thanh Mien district do not have any commune-level units undergoing restructuring during this period).
