Due to the impact of storm No. 6, many grapefruit growing areas in Phuc Trach were deeply submerged in floodwaters. Of which, Phuc Trach commune had about 50 hectares, Huong Pho commune 20 hectares, Ha Linh commune 2 hectares, Huong Do commune nearly 1 hectare flooded... Farmers' Associations of Ha Linh, Phuc Trach, Huong Do and Huong Pho communes have supported people in harvesting and connecting to consume grapefruit.
At the same time, for the past 2 days, the Farmers Support Center (Provincial Farmers' Association) has coordinated with local farmers' associations to support grapefruit consumption to help members and farmers in flooded areas. Through calls on social networking sites, many customers have joined and placed orders to support the products of people in flooded areas. By the morning of September 1, Phuc Trach grapefruit products were supported to be transported to Thanh Sen ward. Through the center, consumers are connected to buy grapefruit directly from farmers. Mr. Nguyen Mau Dien (Toan Luu commune) shared: "Seeing the images of people and authorities overcoming floods to harvest grapefruit, we sympathize and want to share. Although we know that it is not yet the main season, mass harvesting to escape floods will have fruits that are not of the best quality. However, we still support to contribute a small part to share the difficulties with farmers."
During the holidays, the Farmer Support Center received hundreds of orders to support Phuc Trach grapefruit products. Up to now, the unit has completed the connection and supported the consumption of more than 2,000 grapefruits of people in flood areas. Mr. Phan Van Hung - Director of the Farmer Support Center said: "In the coming time, the unit will continue to accompany farmers in flood areas. Hopefully, the Center's participation and the spirit of solidarity of the community will contribute to protecting the value of agricultural products and providing motivation for farmers in flood areas to overcome difficulties."
