Rubber prices in the world today are falling in China but recovering in Thailand and Japan. Thereby ending a series of 2 consecutive sessions of decline in the Japanese market when receiving support from signs of easing of Chinese trade regulations on Nexperia chip exports and a weak yen.

Auto parts suppliers are racing against time to seek exemptions from China’s export restrictions on Nexperia chips, as escalating trade tensions threaten to cripple global production chains.

The move is seen as Beijing’s response to the Dutch government’s takeover of Nexperia, a subsidiary of Chinese conglomerate Wingtech. However, the market has cooled somewhat as China has allowed exports of existing inventories under special licenses, helping to maintain temporary supplies and soothe producer sentiment.

The global auto industry is closely monitoring this development, as any disruption in the chip supply chain could directly impact car production – a major consumer of rubber for tire production.
