According to a decision by the Ministry of Industry and Trade and the Ministry of Finance, except for fuel oil, the prices of all other petroleum products will decrease, with the highest reduction being 219 VND/liter from 3 PM today (February 27).
Specifically, the price of E5 RON92 gasoline decreased by 197 VND/liter, to 20,658 VND/liter; RON95-III gasoline decreased by 219 VND/liter, with the new price being 21,112 VND/liter; diesel fuel did not exceed 18,957 VND/liter, a decrease of 106 VND/liter; and kerosene decreased by 178 VND/liter, to 19,335 VND/liter. However, mazut increased by 19 VND, with the new price being 17,615 VND/kg.
During this price adjustment period, the inter-ministerial committee neither allocated nor used the Price Stabilization Fund for petroleum products. Regarding the Vietnam National Petroleum Group (Petrolimex), as of the time prior to the price adjustment, the balance of the Price Stabilization Fund (BOG) at the company was 3,081 billion VND, unchanged from the most recent announcement.
In the most recent price adjustment (February 20th), E5 RON92 and RON95-III gasoline both increased by 257 VND/liter; kerosene increased by 40 VND/liter. However, diesel decreased by 10 VND/liter and fuel oil decreased by 183 VND/kg.
According to Decree No. 80/2023/ND-CP amending and supplementing a number of articles of Decree No. 95/2021/ND-CP dated November 1, 2021 and Decree No. 83/2014/ND-CP dated September 3, 2014 of the Government on petroleum business, the period for adjusting petroleum prices will be shortened from 10 days to 7 days, to be implemented every Thursday.
In cases where the price adjustment period coincides with a public holiday, the following procedures apply: If Thursday falls on the first day of a public holiday, the fuel price adjustment will be implemented on the Wednesday immediately preceding the holiday. If Thursday falls on any other public holiday, the fuel price adjustment will be implemented on the first working day following the holiday.
