NATION THAILAND. Thai Prime Minister Srettha Thavisin meets his Malaysian counterpart Anwar Ibrahim at the newly opened Sadao border checkpoint customs headquarters in Songkhla province in southern Thailand.

TEMPO. War and genocide in today's era are "completely absurd and senseless", Indonesian President Joko Widodo said at the opening of the International Conference of Religious Leaders (ISORA) of the R20 Religion Forum in Indonesia.
ANTARA. Indonesian President Joko Widodo handed over the decision to appoint Vice Chairman of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) Nawawi Pomolango as acting Chairman of the agency.
CHINA DAILY. Ten Chinese airlines have announced the cancellation of flights to Thailand between December 2023 and January 2024, due to lower-than-expected bookings.
XINHUA. The Chaoyang District Court in Beijing opened a hearing demanding compensation for relatives of Chinese victims of Malaysia Airlines flight MH370 .
KOREA TIMES. South Korea will accept 165,000 unskilled migrant workers next year under the Employment Permit System, aiming to address a growing labor shortage affecting many industries.
YONHAP. The number of young people in South Korea could fall by 50 percent in the next 30 years, amid an aging population and a record low birth rate, Statistics Korea forecasts.
YONHAP. South Korea participated for the first time in the Cyber Coalition international cyber defense exercise organized by NATO, which took place in Estonia from November 27 to December 1.
REUTERS. A ceasefire in the Gaza Strip has been extended for two days, which could include the release of 20 Israeli hostages and 60 Palestinian detainees, according to a spokesman for Qatar's foreign ministry.
UNICEF. Aid groups are on their way to deliver the largest shipment in more than a month to the Gaza Strip, according to UN Children's Fund (UNICEF) spokesman James Elder.
Europe
ANADOLU. Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan spoke by phone with his Iranian counterpart Ebrahim Raisi, agreeing to continue joint efforts to establish a lasting ceasefire in the Gaza Strip.

REUTERS. In a statement on November 27, NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg called on Turkey to accept Sweden's request to join the alliance "as soon as possible".
AFP. Negotiations to form a coalition government in the Netherlands quickly "bogged down" from the very beginning when the MP chosen by the Liberal Party (PVV) to be the negotiating representative was forced to declare his resignation due to a scandal.

CBC. Economists with the Canadian Federation of Independent Business say crime is a major challenge for small businesses in the country.
AP. The Economic Commission for Latin America (ECLAC) said poverty in the region will fall by 29% in 2022, 1.2% lower than the level recorded before the Covid-19 pandemic.

WADR. The three West African countries of Burkina Faso, Mali and Niger have agreed to strengthen economic cooperation, including the establishment of a joint airline.

RTB. The Burkina Faso army “neutralized” at least 63 terrorists in an operation in Koulpélogo province, including several wanted leaders.
HAARETZ. The African Development Bank has approved a $131 million loan to Egypt to boost its business environment as it recovers from the shock of the Covid-19 pandemic and the conflict in Ukraine.
WHO. The World Health Organization (WHO) is stepping up response efforts to prevent the spread of cholera in Somalia as flash floods caused by heavy rains worsen across the country.
AFP. Niger has started operating its largest solar power plant to address power shortages , as neighboring Nigeria cut off supplies under sanctions following a coup in Niger in July.

NZ HERALD. New Zealand Governor-General Cindy Kiro recognizes National Party leader Christopher Luxon as the country's 42nd Prime Minister, along with his cabinet ministers.
MANILA TIMES. The Philippines and Australia conducted their first joint sea and air patrols in the South China Sea from November 25 to 27, days after Manila took similar steps with the United States.
