Pig price today May 28: Stable market, three regions anchored at...

After yesterday’s price increase, the domestic pig market on May 28 recorded a sideways trend in all three regions. Common transaction prices fluctuated between 67,000 – 76,000 VND/kg.

Pig price in the North

In the Northern region, today's live pig price did not record any new adjustment compared to the previous day.

Specifically, key provinces such as Bac Giang , Phu Tho and Thai Binh continued to trade at 69,000 VND/kg. Some localities such as Yen Bai, Lao Cai, Nam Dinh and Ninh Binh maintained the price at 67,000 VND/kg.

Meanwhile, Hung Yen, Thai Nguyen, Ha Nam, Vinh Phuc, Hanoi and Tuyen Quang all maintained the price at 68,000 VND/kg.

Pig price in Central Highlands

The pig market in the Central and Central Highlands regions also did not record any price fluctuations today.

In the provinces of Thanh Hoa, Nghe An, Ha Tinh, Quang Binh, Quang Tri, Thua Thien Hue, Quang Nam, Quang Ngai and Khanh Hoa, prices fluctuated stably in the range of 68,000 - 69,000 VND/kg.

Some localities have higher prices such as Binh Dinh at 70,000 VND/kg; Ninh Thuan at 72,000 VND/kg; Binh Thuan and Dak Lak both at 73,000 VND/kg. Lam Dong alone continues to maintain the highest price in the region at 74,000 VND/kg.

Pig price in the South

In the South, price levels continued to remain high and there were no new adjustments during the day.

Binh Phuoc, Ho Chi Minh City and Binh Duong remained stable at 73,000 VND/kg. Dong Nai, Ba Ria - Vung Tau, An Giang, Tien Giang and Ben Tre all maintained the price of 75,000 VND/kg.

Long An continues to be the locality with the highest pork price in the country at 76,000 VND/kg.

The remaining provinces such as Tay Ninh, Dong Thap, Vinh Long, Can Tho, Kien Giang, Hau Giang, Ca Mau, Bac Lieu, Tra Vinh and Soc Trang remained at 74,000 VND/kg.

In general, the pig market on May 28 recorded a stable trend in all three regions. After the previous volatile sessions, the pig price temporarily remained stable, reflecting the balance of the market at the current price level.

Gia Lai implements measures to prevent and control African swine fever

On May 26, the Department of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Medicine of Gia Lai province issued Official Dispatch No. 409/CCCNTY-TY on implementing measures to prevent and control African swine fever in the province.

Accordingly, on May 22, the specialized agency recorded an outbreak of African swine fever (5 pigs) at the family of Ms. Siu H'Lan (Tay Son ward, Pleiku city) positive for African swine fever. Immediately after that, the authorities coordinated to destroy and disinfect the surrounding area.

To proactively prevent and control African swine fever , minimizing damage to farmers, the provincial Department of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Medicine requested the Department of Agriculture and Environment of localities to urgently deploy a number of measures to prevent and control African swine fever.

The Department of Economic - Infrastructure and Urban Affairs, the Pleiku City Agricultural Service Center coordinated with the Tay Son Ward People's Committee to deploy measures to handle the outbreak. Organize disinfection of the outbreak and surrounding areas once a day, assign staff to directly monitor the outbreak. Check for epidemics in the area, promptly detect and isolate them to prevent widespread spread. Count livestock households and the total pig herd to have appropriate and effective disease prevention and control plans. Disseminate information to people about the epidemic situation to proactively protect livestock, Gia Lai newspaper reported.
