Gia Lai 52 renewable energy projects in the bidding list to find investors

The Gia Lai Provincial People's Council has just passed a Resolution to supplement the list of 52 land plots for bidding to select investors to implement renewable energy projects. The total capacity of the 52 renewable energy projects is more than 2,073 MW.

The western localities of Gia Lai province have potential for renewable energy.

At the 2nd Session of the People's Council of Gia Lai province, term XII, 2021 - 2026, delegates voted to pass the Resolution approving the addition of the list of land plots to be auctioned to select investors to implement investment projects using land in Gia Lai province.

Accordingly, 52 renewable energy projects are added to the list of land plots that will be bid for investor selection in the period 2025 - 2026 with the bidding progress organized within 12 months from the date of investment policy approval. The implementing agency is the Department of Finance.

Including 5 hydropower projects, 13 solar power projects, 32 wind power projects and 2 biomass power projects.

5 hydropower projects have a total capacity of 14.71 MW, of which 4 projects are small-scale hydropower projects (under 2 MW). The largest project is Dinh Binh 2 Hydropower Project with a capacity of 20.5 MW, an area of 3.77 hectares in Vinh Thinh commune.

2 biomass power projects implemented in An Khe ward, both with a capacity of 40 MW, including the An Khe Biomass Power Plant Capacity Upgrade Project with an area of over 5 hectares; the (cogeneration) project with an area of over 8 hectares.

13 solar power projects with a total capacity of 499.84 MW, 32 wind power projects with a total capacity of 1,488 MW. These projects are all located in the western communes of Gia Lai province such as Chu Puh, Ia Le, Ia Ko, Bo Ngoong...

Most solar power projects have a capacity of less than 50 MW (there are 2 projects with a capacity of 49 MW, 5 projects with a capacity of 40 MW). The largest project is the Nhon Hoa 2 Solar Power Plant Project in Ia Le and Chu Puh communes with a capacity of 90 MW and an area of 135 hectares.

Similarly, the 32 wind power projects mostly have a capacity of less than 50 MW with 29 projects (including 12 projects with a capacity of 42 MW, 6 projects with a capacity of 40 MW, 5 projects with a capacity of 45 MW...).

3 projects with a capacity of 100 MW include Xa Trang Wind Power Plant Project (45 ha) and Xa Trang Wind Power Plant Project Phase 2 (47.58 ha) in K'Dang commune; Bo Ngoong Wind Power Plant Project (42 ha) in Bo Ngoong, Ia Bang, K'Dang communes.
