Gold bar and gold ring prices today (February 16): Despite a sharp drop in the weekend session, experts unanimously predict that gold prices will increase in the short term.

The price of SJC gold was listed by Saigon Jewelry Company (SJC) at 87.3 million VND/tael, selling at 90.3 million VND. After a week, SJC gold bars increased by 500,000 VND in buying price but kept the selling price unchanged. This reduced the difference between buying and selling price to 3 million VND instead of 3.5 million VND/tael like the week with God of Wealth day. But this difference is still very high compared to normal.

Similarly, DOJI Group listed gold bars at 87.3-90.3 million VND/tael, down 1 million VND per tael in both directions (buy-sell) compared to the previous session. The difference between buying and selling is 3 million VND.

The price of SJC Mi Hong gold bars is currently trading at 89-89.8 million VND/tael for buying and selling, an increase of 20,000 VND/tael for buying and unchanged for selling compared to the closing price of yesterday's trading session. On the side of Bao Tin Minh Chau Company, two-way transactions of buying and selling were at 87.3-90.3 million VND/tael, unchanged from the previous session. The difference between buying and selling here was at 3 million VND/tael.

Meanwhile, Ngoc Tham Company listed gold bars at 87.8-90 million VND/tael (buy - sell), an increase of 200,000 VND/tael for buying and selling compared to yesterday.

Gold ring price today

For plain gold rings, Saigon Jewelry Company listed the price at VND87.3 million/tael, selling at VND90.1 million, unchanged in both buying and selling compared to the previous session.

PNJ 9999 plain gold ring is listed at 89.5-91.7 million VND/tael, an increase of 1.2 million VND for buying and an increase of 600,000 VND/tael for selling compared to yesterday.

The domestic gold market has just experienced a week of strong fluctuations. On the first day of the week, February 10, the price of SJC gold bars increased by VND1.5 million/tael (buying) and VND1 million/tael (selling), to VND88.3 million/tael (buying) - VND91.3 million/tael (selling).

The next day, the world gold price increased sharply to over 2,930 USD/ounce, causing the domestic gold price to increase by 1.8 million VND/tael, to 90.1 million VND/tael (buy) - 93.1 million VND/tael (sell), surpassing the record of 92.4 million VND/tael in May 2024, setting a historical peak.

However, after that, the world gold price cooled down and domestic investors sold, causing the gold price to plummet to 88 million VND/tael (buy) - 90.5 million VND/tael (sell), down 300,000 VND and 800,000 VND each way compared to the end of the previous day.

On February 12, gold price decreased by another 1.3 million VND/tael (buying) and 300,000 VND/tael (selling), to 86.7 million VND/tael (buying) - 90.2 million VND/tael (selling).

The next day, the gold price increased to 87.7 million VND/tael (buy) - 90.7 million VND/tael (sell), then to 88.3 million VND/tael (buy) - 91.3 million VND/tael (sell) on February 14.

Gold rings also fluctuated strongly. On the first day of the week, businesses increased the price by 1.2-1.6 million VND/tael (buying) and 1 million VND/tael (selling), to 88-88.3 million VND/tael (buying) and 90.8-91.1 million VND/tael (selling).

The next day, the price of precious metals fluctuated strongly, initially increasing by 1 million VND/tael, to 89 million VND/tael (buy) - 91.8 million VND/tael (sell), in some places reaching 93.05 million VND/tael (sell), the highest level ever.

By the afternoon of the same day, the gold price dropped sharply below the 91 million VND/tael mark, 100,000-400,000 VND/tael lower than the end of the previous day.

On February 12, gold prices continued to fall sharply, with common transactions at VND86.7-87.9 million/tael (buy) and VND89.8-90.1 million/tael (sell).

On February 13, gold prices increased again, "increasing" by 1-1.1 million VND/tael (buying) and 550,000-800,000 VND/tael (selling), to 87.7-89 million VND/tael (buying) and 89.9-90.6 million VND/tael (selling).

By February 14, gold prices increased by 200,000-600,000 VND/tael, surpassing the 91 million VND/tael mark, with common transactions being 88.3-89.2 million VND/tael (buy) and 91.1-91.2 million VND/tael (sell).

With the above developments, the price of gold bars at the end of the week decreased by 1 million VND/tael; gold rings decreased by about 600,000 VND/tael compared to the beginning of the week.
