The highest price for a high-speed ferry ticket from Ho Chi Minh City to Con Dao is nearly 1.4 million VND.

(NLDO) - Tomorrow, March 21, the Department of Transport and Public Works (GTCC) of Ho Chi Minh City and the investor will announce the waterway transport route from Ho Chi Minh City to Con Dao and vice versa.

The investor of the train line, Thanh Thanh Phat Passenger Transport Company Limited, is completing the final procedures to put the line into operation on March 29 according to the plan approved by the HCM City Department of Transport.

The vehicle used is the Phu Quy Express high-speed boat, with a capacity of 374 seats, including 280 sleeper beds and 94 seats. The boat operates a maximum of 1 trip/day, departing from Saigon port (District 4) at 7:00; departing from Ben Dam fishing port or Con Dao passenger port at 11:30.

The estimated journey time is approximately 5 hours and 45 minutes.

Train ticket prices are set by the company based on seat type and customer group. The lowest price for a seat ticket on weekdays (Monday to Thursday) is 720,000 - 990,000 VND; the lowest price for a sleeper ticket is 800,000 - 1,250,000 VND. On weekends (Friday to Sunday), ticket prices are adjusted higher, with a seat ticket costing 790,000 VND and the highest being 1,090,000 VND. The lowest price for a sleeper ticket on weekends is 880,000 VND and the highest is 1,370,000 VND.

High-speed boat from District 4 to Con Dao

The current fare proposed by the company includes the entrance ticket to the port and the electric car transfer from the gate to the high-speed train area. In addition, passengers can go by motorbike or car to the port in District 4 to take the high-speed train.

According to the investor, on the occasion of the opening, the company applies a discount program of 50,000 VND/ticket for all passengers, applicable for one-way and round-trip tickets, applicable from March 19 to April 10.

Previously, in May 2024, Phu Quoc High-Speed ​​Ferry Joint Stock Company put into operation the Ho Chi Minh City - Con Dao expressway with a large capacity ship of 1,000 passengers. However, by the end of July 2024, the investor announced a temporary suspension of operations due to unfavorable weather conditions and difficulty for passengers to access when the ship departs from Hiep Phuoc Port (Nha Be District), far from the city center.

According to the HCM City Department of Transport, the operation of the high-speed train route from HCM City to Con Dao aims to meet the expectations and travel needs of people, connect trade, transport passengers, and develop tourism between the two localities of HCM City and Ba Ria - Vung Tau province, contributing to inter-regional socio -economic development.
