Attending the ceremony were the Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Quang Ngai province, Vo Xuan Ca; the Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Mass Mobilization Department, Huynh Thi Thuy Dung; the Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council, Nguyen Cong Thanh; the Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Ho Quang Buu; along with representatives from provincial departments and agencies and Tam Ky city.
In the solemn atmosphere of the ceremony, Venerable Thich Thien Thanh read the Buddha's Birthday Message for the year 2568 of the Buddhist calendar from the Supreme Patriarch of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha; Venerable Thich Phuoc Minh read the Buddha's Birthday Address from the Chairman of the Executive Council of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha.
Reading the Message for the Buddha's Birthday Celebration, Buddhist Calendar 2568, from the Supreme Patriarch of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha, Venerable Thich Thien Thanh stated that the Buddha's Birthday Celebration, or the Triple Anniversary – commemorating the Buddha's birth, enlightenment, and passing into Nirvana – is an occasion to reflect on his noble life, his selfless and altruistic teachings, full of love and wisdom. These teachings not only offer comfort but also provide practical solutions to transform personal suffering and create a peaceful environment for all sentient beings.
In the Buddha's Birthday Message for the year 2568 of the Buddhist calendar, the Supreme Patriarch of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha called upon monks, nuns, and Buddhists to pray for diligent practice, to spread love to all sentient beings, and to illuminate this world with the light of compassion and wisdom.
"With all the sacred significance of the Buddha's birthday anniversary, I wish that all Buddhists around the world will unite, live together with all humanity with altruism, and build a world of peace and tranquility," - stated the message of the Buddha's Birthday Celebration, Buddhist Calendar 2568.
At the ceremony, the Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Quang Nam province, Vo Xuan Ca, read a congratulatory letter on the occasion of Buddha's Birthday 2568, expressing his belief that, with their role and prestige, the venerable monks and Buddhist followers of Quang Nam province will continue to uphold the tradition of patriotism, protecting the nation and ensuring peace for the people, spreading the beautiful cultural and moral values of Buddhism, closely accompanying the nation, effectively implementing the policies and guidelines of the Party and State, and actively participating in patriotic emulation movements and humanitarian and charitable activities.
On behalf of the provincial leadership, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Ho Quang Buu congratulated, acknowledged, and praised the contributions of monks, nuns, and Buddhist followers in Quang Nam province over the past time, and at the same time called on Buddhist followers to further promote activities of national unity and work together to build the homeland and the country.
