After nearly 27 years of establishment and development, the VBA of Quang Nam province has now established 15 VBA district-level executive boards.

Buddhist activities are carried out according to the motto "good religion, beautiful life," contributing to preserving and promoting the fine customs, ethics, and traditional culture of the nation.

Enhancing role and prestige

At the street corner near Ngo Quyen Primary School (Phu Trung neighborhood, An Phu ward, Tam Ky city), some people used to litter improperly, causing unsightly conditions and environmental pollution. Thanks to the joint efforts of many parties, including Buddhist dignitaries and followers in the area, this environmental "hotspot" has gradually been eliminated.

Mr. Le Thai Binh, Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Quang Nam province, said that during the process of building and developing the homeland, religious organizations in general and Buddhism in particular have accompanied the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the province, together fostering a strong national unity in the province.

This is clearly demonstrated through the response to and implementation of patriotic emulation campaigns and movements initiated by the Fatherland Front at all levels.

Venerable Thich Tinh Tri believes that participating in local movements and activities is the responsibility of Buddhist dignitaries and followers, as this is inherent in Buddhist teachings.

"Through their role, prestige among followers, and participation, religious leaders will contribute to making local policies more effective," said Venerable Thich Tinh Tri.

Mr. Le Minh Hai, Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of An Phu Ward, said that the model "Religious organizations participate in protecting a green, clean, and beautiful environment" was launched by the Ward's Fatherland Front on August 1, 2023; to date, both Buddhist establishments in the ward have responded to the model.

According to Mr. Hai, before the model was launched, the people and Buddhist followers did not have the habit of sorting waste at source. Through guidance and propaganda, now along the roads with religious establishments, there is no longer any accumulation of garbage, and there are no environmental black spots.

“Buddhists and Buddhist dignitaries actively participate in humanitarian and charitable activities to help poor households and those in difficult circumstances. This has contributed to reducing the poverty rate to below 1%, exceeding the target set by the Party Congress Resolution of the ward…” - Mr. Hai shared.
