Ambassador Guerrier has worked for nearly 30 years at the European Commission, mainly in the areas of international trade negotiations, industrial policy and research, as well as business management.
Before coming to Vietnam, he was in charge of the General Directorate for Overall Policy Development for Horizon Europe, the EU's funding programme for research and innovation.
Ambassador Guerrier assessed that Vietnam is a country with an important position in terms of economy, population, and geographical location in Asia - Pacific , and therefore, is an important partner of the EU.
During his tenure, Ambassador Guerrier pledged to continue to support and cooperate to help Vietnam achieve its goal of becoming a developed country by 2045 and reducing emissions to zero by 2050.
