This was the topic of a workshop recently organized by the Binh Thuan Department of Industry and Trade in coordination with the Trade Remedies Department - Ministry of Industry and Trade, held in Phan Thiet City on March 28, 2024.

In his opening remarks at the workshop, Mr. Bien Tan Tai, Deputy Director of the Department of Industry and Trade of Binh Thuan province, stated that in the context of Vietnam's participation in numerous Free Trade Agreements (FTAs), opportunities for businesses to integrate deeply into the global arena have been created. Besides tax incentives, Vietnam's FTA partners are among the countries that utilize trade defense measures globally . Therefore, Vietnamese export goods in general, and those from Binh Thuan province in particular, face the risk of being investigated and subjected to trade defense measures by partner countries in these FTAs.
At the workshop, speakers from the Trade Remedies Department of the Ministry of Industry and Trade presented an overview of the legal process for trade remedies in the free trade agreements that Vietnam is a party to. They also focused on presenting practical approaches to responding to trade remedy investigations initiated by foreign countries against Vietnamese export goods. Through this, workshop participants were able to grasp the latest information on trade remedies, how to handle and respond to trade remedy investigations, thereby contributing to protecting the legitimate rights and interests of businesses and export industries in the current situation.
