Preserve unity as you preserve the apple of your eye.

Since its inception, the Party has overcome many hardships and challenges and achieved victory thanks to the unity within the Party. This is the source of strength, the factor to promote the intelligence and creativity of the cadres and Party members, the core of belief and the nucleus to unite the entire nation.

Unity within the Party is based on revolutionary ideals. That is the goal to persuade and call upon the entire Party and people to unify their thoughts and actions, to gather the strength to unite under the Party's banner to fight for the noble cause of national independence associated with socialism.

The Party must be creative and apply the reality to propose correct policies and guidelines based on Marxism-Leninism and Ho Chi Minh Thought. When the country was still immersed in slavery, the goal was to gain independence and fight against all invaders with the viewpoint "Nothing is more precious than independence and freedom".

The country was unified, facing the risk of being surrounded and embargoed, the bureaucratic subsidy mechanism was not suitable, the Soviet Union and the socialist system collapsed, it was necessary to "look straight at the truth", "change thinking" and creatively find a way to innovate to continue to move the revolution forward. It was the correct way that led the Vietnamese revolution to overcome all difficulties and challenges to achieve the foundation it has today and was the most important factor to create unity within the Party, as the basis and nucleus for national unity, a strength that no enemy could overcome.

Solidarity must be based on the principle of democratic centralism. On the one hand, we must constantly practice democracy widely in Party activities from the Central to the grassroots level to promote the intelligence and creativity of cadres and Party members; on the other hand, we must maintain discipline and strengthen discipline to create unity within the Party. Well implementing the principle of democratic centralism combined with discipline and strict discipline is the core of solidarity within the Party.

The Party takes care to build mutual love, comradeship, and compatriotism; preserves revolutionary ethics, strives to fight against the diseases of meritocracy, arrogance, status, localism, rivalry, cliques, superficiality, “group interests”... and avoids the twelve diseases that President Ho Chi Minh pointed out in the book “Reforming the way of working”. Following his advice, regularly self-criticize and criticize “like washing your face every day”. Conduct self-criticism and criticism in the spirit of comradeship, objectivity, frankness, honesty, sincerity, democracy, equality, mutual respect and mutual help to progress. Only then can we have true solidarity.

Practice has shown that wherever unity and solidarity within the Party can be maintained as the core for national unity, then everything will go smoothly, political tasks will achieve progressive results, and the revolutionary cause will bring results. If the opposite happens, then the movement will encounter difficulties, political tasks will not be completed, internal divisions will occur, and the masses will be confused, causing serious damage to the revolutionary cause.

Therefore, hostile forces always seek many tricks to bribe, slander, incite, and cause suspicion within the Party... That is a sinister plot to divide the Party internally, reduce the role and strength of the Party, and use the trick of "peaceful evolution" to sabotage from within the Party.

Therefore, from the lessons on maintaining solidarity and unity within the Party as the core for solidarity in the whole society in the current situation, it is necessary to note some contents:

It is necessary to create unity and steadfastness in Marxism-Leninism and Ho Chi Minh thought, demonstrated through the consistency of the Party and State's guidelines and policies. Think creatively and practically about specific conditions, each situation and each unit, opposing the "term mindset", empty show-off, chasing after form, superficiality.

Every cadre and party member must truly have a bright mind, live with integrity, modesty, tolerance, and generosity. Build a comradely love for each other; respect each other in work as well as in life, and behave with each other in a civilized manner. Every party member, first of all, is a person holding a responsibility and must set a good example, must say what he does, be honest, be the center of gathering and uniting on the basis of centralized democracy, uphold discipline, and oppose all manifestations of flattery, sycophancy, factionalism, jealousy, speculation, rivalry, and status in behavior.

It is necessary to uphold the principles of Party organization operations. The Party can only exist and develop on the basis of strictly implementing the principles of operation. This is also the basis for solidarity and unity within the Party. Only by seriously implementing the principle of democratic centralism can we promote capacity and intelligence, maintain order and discipline. Only by regularly conducting self-criticism and criticism can we promote strengths, overcome shortcomings, understand each other, and help each other progress. This is the best and most effective way to maintain and strengthen solidarity and unity within the Party.

In the process of operating the socialist-oriented market mechanism, manifestations of bureaucracy, authoritarianism, corruption, degeneration, and degeneration are widespread. Therefore, each cadre and party member must cultivate and train themselves, must work in the organization, must be truly close to the people, listen to the people, respect the people, create conditions for the people to trust, boldly express their aspirations and thoughts, as well as constructive opinions to contribute to the Party. Promote the role of supervision and social criticism of the Fatherland Front, socio-political organizations, and the media in conjunction with strengthening the inspection of the implementation of the Political Platform, the Party's Charter, the Party's regulations as well as the State's laws.

Unity within the Party must be considered the central and regular task of Party building and rectification, the core for unity from the grassroots to the entire nation. In the face of all developments of the situation, in the face of all enemy plots and sabotage tricks, if we want to overcome and move forward, the greatest lesson is to put the task of unity first, as Uncle Ho always advised throughout the revolutionary process and before he passed away: "Comrades from the Central Committee to the Party cells must preserve the unity of the Party as if preserving the pupil of their eye". Only "unity, unity, great unity" will overcome everything to have "success, success, great success".
