Inter Milan became the first team to reach the Champions League final this season after a dramatic victory over Barcelona in the semi-finals.
Inter beat Barcelona 7-6 on aggregate after two legs. Inter drew 3-3 away and won 4-3 after an exciting 120-minute chase at home.
The 7-6 result is also the highest score in the history of the semi-finals of Europe's most prestigious club tournament.
This is also the 7th time the Milanese blue-black striped team has had the honor of participating in the final after 1964, 1965, 1967, 1972, 2010 and 2023.
On the other side of the front line, Barcelona has reason to feel regretful after their impressive performance since the beginning of the tournament.
In the decisive match at Giuseppe Meazza, Barcelona did not play well, allowing Inter to lead 2-0 in the first half thanks to Lautaro Martínez and Hakan Çalhanoğlu.
However, in the second half, the Catalan team played explosively, with two consecutive goals from Eric García and Dani Olmos to tie the score 2-2.
In the 87th minute, Raphinha raised the score to 3-2 for Barcelona. However, Acerbi was able to shine in time to equalize 3-3 in the 90+3 minute, forcing the second leg of the semi-final to go into extra time.
During extra time, Inter Milan took better advantage of their chances to score. In the 99th minute, receiving the ball from Medhi Taremi, Davide Frattesi finished accurately into the far corner, sealing the victory for the Nerazzurri.
Going straight to the final, Coach Inzaghi's team's opponent in Munich (Germany) will be the winner of the semi-final match between Arsenal and PSG./.
