People carry their belongings back to their hometowns to celebrate Tet in an excited and joyful mood.

To bring workers back to their hometowns for Tet, Hanoi organized 25 45-seat buses to take 1,200 workers from Hanoi's Industrial and Export Processing Zones back to their hometowns in Thanh Hoa, Nghe An, and Ha Tinh provinces to celebrate Tet.

Along with organizing buses to take workers home for Tet, Hanoi supports tickets in cash for 5,000 union members and workers in difficult circumstances at the following levels: 500,000 VND/person for 2,000 workers from Nghe An and Ha Tinh; 300,000 VND/person for 3,000 workers from Thanh Hoa; Ha Giang, Dien Bien, Lai Chau, Son La, Cao Bang, Lao Cai, Bac Can, Tuyen Quang, Yen Bai, Lang Son...

Chairman of the Hanoi Labor Confederation Pham Quang Thanh said that in 2023, with many fluctuations in the world economic and political situation and prolonged inflation in many countries; many businesses had to cut orders and narrow production; tens of thousands of workers were unemployed, lost their jobs, and faced many difficulties in life.

According to Mr. Thanh, during the Lunar New Year 2024, the Hanoi Labor Federation also supported 4,395 cash bus tickets for workers with a total amount of 1.67 billion VND; supported vehicles to bring 1,200 workers of the Trade Union of Industrial and Export Processing Zones back to their hometowns to celebrate Tet with their families, with destinations being Thanh Hoa, Nghe An, Ha Tinh and some northern provinces.

Along with that, the Labor Federations of districts, towns, and cities, and the Industry Unions have also implemented and organized programs to support vehicles and train tickets to bring disadvantaged workers in the area back to their hometowns to celebrate Tet with their families.

Hanoi City leaders and departments see off workers returning home for Tet.

"This is the 16th consecutive year that the city's trade unions at all levels have organized this activity, thereby creating a positive effect, mobilizing and calling on businesses to join hands with the Trade Union to take care of union members and workers. During the 2024 Giap Thin New Year, there were thousands of trips by businesses in coordination with the grassroots Trade Union to bring workers back to their hometowns to celebrate Tet and welcome workers back to work after Tet," Mr. Pham Quang Thanh emphasized.

Along with taking workers home for Tet, in the "Trade Union Tet Journey - Spring 2024", the Hanoi Labor Federation also organized 6 buses to pick up over 200 workers from Thanh Hoa and Nghe An provinces to return to Hanoi to work. There will be 6 buses to pick up workers from 7:00 a.m. on February 14, 2024, the 5th day of the Lunar New Year at pick-up points in the above localities.
